What shows on a criminal background check?
My friend was arrested for theft, $50 of merchandise. They received community service, a fine blah, blah, blah. It was a stupid mistake, no other criminal history. What would show up on criminal background if this person is trying to get a volunteer position working with the youth? It is a misdemeanor class B. Would the records show the arrest, for what reason, the store? Or would it simply say theft?

Assuming a COMPETENT background check, EVERYTHING will show up. the real question is, will they care? Unless the arrest was fairly recent, it will probably not be an issue.
