A tsunami spawned by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded slammed Japan’s eastern coast killing hundreds of people as it swept away boat cars and homes while widespread fires burned out of control
A few hours later the tsunami hit Hawaii and warnings blanketed the Pacific as far away as South America Canada Alaska and the entire U.S. West Coast
Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai Another 88 were confirmed killed and at least 349 were missing The death toll was likely to continue climbing given the scale of the disaster
The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot 7-meter tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours many of them of more than magnitude 6.0.
Dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile 2,100-kilometer stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo hundreds of miles kilometers from the epicenter
The earthquake has caused major damage in broad areas in northern Japan
The government ordered thousands of residents near a nuclear power plant in Onahama city to evacuate because the plant’s system was unable to cool the reactor The reactor was not leaking radiation but its core remained hot even after a shutdown The plant is 170 miles 270 kilometers northeast of Tokyo
Trouble was reported at two other nuclear plants as well but there was no radiation leak at any
Japan’s coast guard said it was searching for 80 dock workers working on a ship that was swept away from a shipyard in Miyagi prefecture
horrific proportions because of the tsunami that crashed ashore swallowing everything in its path as it surged several miles kilometers nland before retreating The apocalyptic images of surging water broadcast by Japanese TV networks resembled scenes from a Hollywood disaster movie
Large fishing boats and other sea vessels rode high waves into the cities, slamming against overpasses or scraping under them and snapping power lines along the wayUpturned and partially submerged vehicles were seen bobbing in the water. Ships anchored in ports crashed against each other
The highways to the worst-hit coastal areas were severely damaged and communications, including telephone lines were snapped Train services in northeastern Japan and in Tokyo which normally serve 10 million people a day were also suspended leaving untold numbers stranded in stations or roaming the streets Tokyo’s Narita airport was closed indefinitely
The aftershocks keep coming
Waves of muddy waters flowed over farmland near the city of Sendai carrying buildings some on fire inland as cars attempted to drive away Sendai airport north of Tokyo was inundated with cars trucks buses and thick mud deposited over its runways Fires spread through a section of the city
More than 300 houses were washed away in Ofunato City alone. Television footage showed mangled debris, uprooted trees upturned cars and shattered timber littering streets.
The tsunami roared over embankments washing anything in its path inland before reversing directions and carrying the cars homes and other debris out to sea Flames shot from some of the houses, probably because of burst gas pipes
The President assured earthquake-ravaged Japan this morning that the United States stands ready to help
He said in an early-morning statement that his administration would continue to closely monitor tsunamis around Japan and the Pacific going forward
NHK said more than 4 million buildings were without power in Tokyo and its suburbs.
Also in Miyagi a fire broke out in a turbine building of a nuclear power plant but it was later extinguished
A reactor area of a nearby plant was leaking water the But it was unclear if the leak was caused by tsunami water or something elseThere were no reports of radioactive leaks at any of Japan’s nuclear plants
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 2:46 p.m. quake was a magnitude 8.9, the biggest earthquake to hit Japan since officials began keeping records in the late 1800s and one of the biggest ever recorded in the world
The quake struck at a depth of six miles 10 kilometers about 80 miles 125 kilometers off the eastern coast

March 11 Earthquake Japonesa mostra:Sendai airport helicopter Hawaii tsunami footage

March 28th, 2011 10 comments

Japan’s most powerful earthquake since records began has struck the north-east coast, triggering a massive tsunami.Cars, ships and buildings were swept away by a wall of water after the 8.9-magnitude tremor struck north-east of Tokyo.

A state of emergency has been declared at a nuclear power plant, where pressure has exceeded normal levels.Officials say 350 people are dead but it is feared the final death toll will be much higher. In Tokyo many people are spending the night in their offices. But thousands, perhaps millions, chose to walk home. Train services were suspended.
There a tsunami triggered by the quake reached six miles inland in places carrying houses, buildings, boats and cars with it.

Japan’s ground self-defense forces have been deployed, and the government has asked the US military based in the country for help. The quake was the fifth-largest in the world since 1900 and nearly 8,000 times stronger than the one which devastated Christchurch, New Zealand, last month.

Thousands of people living near the Fukushima nuclear power plant have been ordered to evacuate.pressure inside a boiling water reactor at the plant was running much higher than normal after the cooling system failed.Officials said they might need to deliberately release some radioactive steam to relieve pressure.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had the US Air Force flown emergency coolant to the site. But the Japanese had decided to handle the situation by themselves.
Four nuclear power plants were shut down safely.

The tsunami went across the Pacific at 500mph right before it smashed into Hawaii and the West Coast of the United States.
Thousands of people evacuated in California, Oregon and Washington state.

The waves reached 6 and 7 feet near Crescent city California.
A tsunami warning was also in the Pacific to North and South America.
waves hit Miyagi and Fukushima and other coastal communities.A wave struck Sendai, destroying the farmland along with damaging cars and the airport runway.

Michael Jackson WBSS Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ Victory Tour Live In Kansas 1984 High Definition

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” is a song by American songwriter and recording artist Michael Jackson. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” was released on May 8, 1983, by Epic Records as the fourth single from Jackson’s sixth studio album Thriller in 1982. The song was written by Jackson and produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones. The song’s lyrics pertain to strangers spreading rumors to begin or start an argument just for no reason. Musically, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” has a cross-cultural disco theme, similar to Jackson’s material from his previous album Off the Wall in 1979. The song’s rhythm arrangement consists of interweaving drum-machine patterns, while the horn arrangement is brassy and precise. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” has been covered and sampled by multiple recording artists since its release. Aside from Thriller, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” appears on multiple compilation and greatest hits albums by Jackson.

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” was generally well received by contemporary music critics. The song was also commercially successful, charting within the top twenty and top thirty in multiple countries. The song became Jackson’s fifth consecutive top ten single in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking within the top ten at number five. The song re-entered charts in 2008 after the release of Thriller 25. Following Jackson’s death in June 2009, the song re-entered music charts worldwide, mainly due to digital download sales. Unlike previous singles from Thriller, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” did not have a music video to accompany it, but was performed by Jackson on world concert tours, as both a member of The Jacksons and as a solo artist.

As part of the release of Thriller 25, a remix of “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'”, entitled “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008”, was recorded with Akon, and released as the second single from the album. The song was commercially successful, mainly charting within the top ten in six countries, as well as the top twenty in several territories worldwide. The song was more successful internationally than in the United States, having peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number eighty-one, which was the song’s lowest charting position.

Joke. Alice Kapipelean?

One Friday, there were 3 nuns riding on a mountain road. They were coming around a turn when a semi rammed into them head on killing them instantly. They were coming to the gates of heaven and noticed a sign that said “Closed for Remodeling”. One nun knocked on the gates and out came St. Peter. He said, “What are you doing here! No one is supposed to be here! We are closed for the weekend for remodeling!”

The one nun said, “Well, we’re dead and we can’t go back.” “Alright,” said St. Peter. “What we are going to do is send you back for the weekend as whoever you wish to be and then we’ll accept you back into Heaven,” exclaimed St. Peter as he looks at the first nun.

“Okay, who do you want to be?” he asks the nun. “Well, I thought her life was very interesting especially since she gave her life to God, so I want to be Joan of Arc.” Poof!

The first nun becomes Joan of Arc. “Okay, You’re next,” as her looks at the second nun, “Who do you want to be?” “! ! Well, I thought her life was very interesting and she died a tragic death, so I want to become Marilyn Monroe,” pronounces the second nun. Poof!

The second nun becomes Marilyn Monroe. “Okay, who do you want to be?” St. Peter says to the third nun. “I want to be Alice Kapipelean.” “Excuse me?!?” confusingly asks St. Peter. “I want to be Alice Kapipelean!” exclaims the nun. St. Peter replies, “Pardon me Sister, we have no record of any Alice Kapipelean being on earth,” explains St. Peter.

“There is TOO an Alice Kapipelean and I have proof right HERE!!!” shouts the nun. St. Peter takes the news article and reads it. “Oh my, Sister. You have misread this article. This article says that the Alaska Pipeline was laid by 500 men in six months.”

LOL THAT HAD 2 BE EMBARRISING LOL

Is it possible for Global Warming to freeze us to death?

February 14th, 2010 4 comments

I think Climate Change is now the correct term but single digit temp.here on Copper Creek in S.W. Va. and even colder expert predictions ahead with Key West, Fl. only in the 40’s day time high what is going on? We have property in Jax. Florida about sea level with no problems from flooding but this record cold is causing a real concern. We must stop Global Warming at any cost!?

freeze us too death? are you familiar with the term Warming, it means Temperature rises (on earth)

Why does God fling asteroids seemingly at random into space, some of which might impact populated planets?

January 2nd, 2010 8 comments

There are records of tremendous meteorite impacts on earth, such as the Gulf of Mexico and that big crater in Arizona.

Why would a loving God fling asteroids out into the void of space, when it’s entirely likely that at least a few will strike populated worlds, causing destruction and death to the very things It created?

I mean, if I had a big sac of balls, I wouldn’t throw them at people and potentially hurt them, I’d sit and play with them myself, or with the help of some close friends.

I actually laughed out loud over this…
