The Roots Bloody Roots of Erik Rutan from Hate Eternal!
This past weekend we had the privilege of seeing Hate Eternal perform live and loud at Santos Party House, alongside Origin, Vital Remains and Abysmal Dawn! Prior to the show we interviewed Erik Rutan about his extensive career as a Death Metal musician and as a Heavy Music producer. While we had always heard great things about Rutan, it was refreshing to find out that he is one of the most humble and professional Death Metal musicians out there. During the interview we discussed Hate Eternal’s newest album “Phoenix Amongst the Ashes”, as well as his work with other bands like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Agnostic Front and Madball, just to name a few.
During the conversation we also discussed how Rutan was transplanted from New Jersey into Florida, in order to establish himself as a big player within the Death Metal scene. The 2nd album from these Florida based symphonic death metallers proves that this band is for real, despite anything said otherwise, heavy, blasphemous, and true anti everything. Recommended if you like Deicide, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Cradle Of Filth, and Marduk. Excellent death metal.
