Who could do such a monsterous thing…Continued?

February 26th, 2010 4 comments

Some one told me this true story yesterday and it is haunting mythoughts…..I can’t believe what kind of monster could do this, and to their own child?

(Iowa)A man took his 2yr old son to the middle of nowhere on the side of the road …..stomped on him, kicked him …etc..

By the time the cops helicoptered in ,the boy was gone.(passer bys tried to stop him….but it was too late by then)
and he was still crushing the boy long after his passing.

Sharp shooters came in and shot the father down…
the boys body was so badly pulverized that they had to use dental records to identify his body.

When his wife was later questioned about a possible
motive for her husbands horrific crime, she claimed that
her husband believe the 2yr old to be a demon in the literal
sense.

Sorry if I bummed everyones day…it is so hard to shake it…
it was so evil

These kinds of things just keep happening….
When I was 11 in 1996 (lived in Florida) I knew abeautiful , sweet 18mth old girl whom was
murdered by her own grandma(during a weekend visit)

(he strangled to death and then placed into
a storage freezer) and called the cops to
confess the next day while going about
her daily rountines.

When she was questioned she told police
that her grand daughter was a neglected
child that no one cared about….and that
she was too good for this world.

She recieved life…without the possibility of
parole…what is f***ed up? She was only
sent to jail for 5yrs for murdering her husband
(in supposed self defense….stabbing him
over 30 times)

Her 18mth old life could have been saved
if her grandma would been properly punished
for the death of her husband.

When I went to her funeral, the following weekend…it was clear that many loved her
and I still can’t remove the image of her
2 1/2 foot coffin

unfortunately in today’s world things like this happen….I have read about and or seen it to many times my self..personally I think we need to take a hint from some of the wild life around us sometimes…the nurturing nature as I have heard it called seems to portray what we as humans need to learn…child abuse is such a horrible thing as a victim myself I try my best not to allow my children to ever become victims but it is up to each and everyone of us to break the cycle. If we see something wrong or out of sorts then we need to report it and stop being so afraid of the outcome..if you see someone being abused weither its verbal, mental, sexual or physical we need to take a stand and report it. Don’t sit back and say I don’t want to get involved, we need to be involved, if our children are our future then what are we teaching them if we sit back and watch these horrible things being done to them and not taking a stand?

You know when 0bama said that his grandma died Nov 3, but then later said she really died Nov 2? Why did they ?

muddle that, for the "sympathy vote"?
He had her taken out of the hospital October 19, and now the funeral home employees and coroner’s office employees are saying she really died October 21. Remember Barack "suddenly" went out there October 23rd? Maybe so he and his cronies could go through her things? Remember we all thought she’d died Nov.3, then Nov. 2, and that all this time she was "on ice" awaiting a funeral, which she had only Barack never attended? And then yesterday he tossed her ashes over a cliff in Hawaii finally?
According to sources employed in the coroner’s office Madelyn Dunham died on October 21, 2008 and was cremated on Friday October 24, 2008. It is further claimed that the death records of Madelyn L Dunham were falsified at the direct and specific request of Barack Obama and Maya Ng. This has been filed with the Hawaii Attorney General’s office.
Remember at the end of October Michelle said that Madelyn Dunham was "doing fine", and remember Michelle nor the kids came to visit "ailing granny"? Remember that though her 89th birthday was October 25th nobody, not even Barack or Maya visited her?

I know 0bama supporters worship his &()*^%%, and they will say a bunch of abusive nearly criminal insults, but to normal people this guy stinks. That again is to NORMAL people.
I love to report abuse.

One disaster at a time. Wait till you see the dates on my birth certificate.

Help please—geneology?

December 27th, 2009 5 comments

Can someone please give me some good FREE sites for geneology searches–I don’t need some where to make a tree just searches and also some where that I can access florida death records for free—Thanks I would pay if I had the money but my family is running short on money right now and I want to find as much info as I can before my 81 year old great grandmother dies please—With prayers she will live much longer and I am truly hoping she does because she is my best friend but that’s here nor there—Mainly I just need those sites==Thanks

My favorite place to realize how many sites there are, is www.cyndislist.com. The trick is knowing that if gr grandma’s parent(s) come from a certain place, the ‘best’ place may be a specialized one, not the "we have 3 trillion names in our database" type. www.usgenweb.com is a volunteer network covering the US, then there is a great tutorial at rootsweb. Also at rootsweb.com (click on searches) is the social security death index. If HER parents died since 1960ish, they are likely in that file. It won’t have certificates itself, but dates and places help. I have never met a mortician I didn’t like.. meaning, if she recalls the cemetery or funeral home, they often will send the file (and they are the ones who fill out the certificates).
Second… take 5 more points and please REPOST with names and approx dates and places (not her, since she is still living). Trust me, you’ll get leads or solid facts.
I am in midst of doing the re-work for my mother in law 84 and her 94 yr old partner. Scanning old pics so she can use her new computer to zoom in (losing her sight, so this is great). Yes, dear.. it IS here or there, its a wonderful gift of yourself, and way to bond even stronger. You go, girl.

The odds of getting the right information on this death record?

December 11th, 2009 2 comments

Alright…I messed up when I bought my last death record from the Cook County genealogical office (Chicago) online. I bought the wrong person’s that had the same name as the person I wanted to buy. This time however, I’m sure I have the right person. Her name is Maria (Steele) Gorey. She died on January 25, 1920. I knew this because I found a telegram sent to my great grandfather telling him that she had died when I visited my grandma. Anyways, I found the record online. I’m going to buy it, but it costs $15. I’m 16 and I really don’t want to waste my money. I have to buy it online with my mom’s credit card and then pay her back. I just want to know what anyone thinks the odds are that I will get her parents’ names on this death certificate.

The earliest record I have bought from Cook County was 1932 and it had a line for parents’ names however, no one filled it out (I think in that case the person didn’t have family members around when she died). For my Maria Steele, I know for a fact that when she died she had 3 children living in Chicago, and that they probably would have known Maria Steele’s parents’ (My great grandfather’s grandparents’) names because they took trips up to Wisconsin and used to spend time with them.

So if anyone has ordered a death record from around this time in Chicago, I’d like to hear what you got. Also I’d like to hear what anyone else thinks will happen if I order this certificate. For a side note, my parents hate when I ask them about their families, and they totally don’t support me doing this at all and I don’t want to listen to my mom say I told you so. Hopefully I can get this information.
haha Jan…The family tree you just posted on your answer is mine…The Shaw family tree is my account on ancestry.com. That information is everything I have found without any help from other people’s family trees on ancestry.com (So far I can find no family tree to link up with).

To Wendy: According to the census of 1900 or 1920, her birth date is november of 1870 so that explains why she is not on a 1870 census. And since the 1890 censuses were burned that is why she is not on those. I just can’t seem to find her on the 1880 Census. Her sister Belle died in 1903. I have a telegram a "Eugene Steele" sent Maria Steele in 1903 telling her "Belle is DEAD". However, I don’t know whether Eugene is a brother, uncle, or father. It could be her father because Maria Steele’s son (my great grandpa) was named Francis Eugene Gorey. Hence his middle name was named after his grandfather.

My account name on ancestry.com is "lilshaw1212" and my family tree name is "Shaw Family tree".
Michael "Mike" Gorey died on May 2, 1902 when he fell into the Chicago river and drowned to death while working on the docks. Maria Steele raised the children all by herself. My grandma told me that her father (Francis Gorey) used to take trips with his mother Maria Steele and spend months up in Wisconsin with Maria’s family. I’m guessing it was so Maria could take some time off from raising her 3 surviving children all by herself. I’ve searched high and low both online and off for Maria Steele’s parents and I’m thinking this death record is my last chance.

Also, where did you find that information about the marriage. The only thing I could find on the marriage was that it took place in 1891 (from a Chicago census)
To Jan: no Belle Steele is not black. I have a picture of Maria Steele and she is most defintely white. From the censuses of 1900 and 1920, I know that Maria Steele’s (and Belle’s) parents were from Ireland, so I’m thinking there is a pretty slim chance they are black.

I have been trying to find your Marie Steel in the 1880 census, but no luck. I find her and husband Mike Gorey in 1900, where she gives her birth as Nov 1870 in Wisc. They were married 9 yrs.. her sister was Belle Steel, born Aug 1880 in Wisc, was living with them. This proves the parents lived until that time.. but darned if I can find them. Mike has died pre 1920, since the kids are listed with mom in that census, and she shows as a widow. This seems to be a case of they listed her, even though she died??
The thing I am wondering about, is what happened to sister Belle? If she married, and died, there will also be a death cert for her, and she would be the most likely informant for Marie’s death record. But.. no guarantee, never is.
I don’t have ancestry.com, so maybe someone will come in behind me, and pick up on something else. The problem is that there is no 1890 census which would show both girls with parents, and Belle is not going to show in 1880.
edit
just did more searching, and find…
MARIE STEELE Family
Marriage:
11 JUN 1891 , Cook, Illinois
(that is the filed marriage date for Marie and Michael Gorey, so the marriage was in Cook county).

GOREY, MICHAEL 1902-05-02CHICAGO 40 YRU 00006684COOK
it looks like this could be the death date for your Michael, the age seems to be right for a 1861 birth.
