Michael Jackson – Is It Scary [Death Row Remix] (Unreleased) (1997)

March 28th, 2011 12 comments

Now this is a true DEATH ROW BOMB right here! Who would it thought that “The King Of Pop” – Michael Jackson will ever team up with the notorious Death Row Records for some Pop/G-Funk crossover.. But IT’S REAL AND IT’S FUNKY! So read the full story below about the making of this dopeness and bump that in your system to the fullest!!!

In 1997 Tommy D Daugherty was hired by Michael Jackson’s team via Worlds End Management to produce a remix for ‘Is It Scary’. Sony gave him the acapella. The goal was for the remix to have the Death Row sound.
While Tommy D was working on the remix, 5 armed people burst into The Enterprise Studio in Burbank, CA. They tied him up along with the other 9 staff members and Carl ‘Butch’ Small, who was a percussionist at Death Row Records and then robbed all the synthesizers, drum machine and bass.
MJ’s team stayed quiet about this event because they didn’t want negative publicity. The next day Tommy D had a session planned with KoRn but didn’t have his equipment anymore. Snoop Dogg heard about the incident and gave Tommy D a $5000 check to help him. The remix was done on July 17, 1997 but was never released…

Michael Jackson WBSS Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ Victory Tour Live In Kansas 1984 High Definition

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanna_Be_Startin%27_Somethin%27

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” is a song by American songwriter and recording artist Michael Jackson. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” was released on May 8, 1983, by Epic Records as the fourth single from Jackson’s sixth studio album Thriller in 1982. The song was written by Jackson and produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones. The song’s lyrics pertain to strangers spreading rumors to begin or start an argument just for no reason. Musically, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” has a cross-cultural disco theme, similar to Jackson’s material from his previous album Off the Wall in 1979. The song’s rhythm arrangement consists of interweaving drum-machine patterns, while the horn arrangement is brassy and precise. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” has been covered and sampled by multiple recording artists since its release. Aside from Thriller, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” appears on multiple compilation and greatest hits albums by Jackson.

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” was generally well received by contemporary music critics. The song was also commercially successful, charting within the top twenty and top thirty in multiple countries. The song became Jackson’s fifth consecutive top ten single in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking within the top ten at number five. The song re-entered charts in 2008 after the release of Thriller 25. Following Jackson’s death in June 2009, the song re-entered music charts worldwide, mainly due to digital download sales. Unlike previous singles from Thriller, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” did not have a music video to accompany it, but was performed by Jackson on world concert tours, as both a member of The Jacksons and as a solo artist.

As part of the release of Thriller 25, a remix of “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'”, entitled “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008”, was recorded with Akon, and released as the second single from the album. The song was commercially successful, mainly charting within the top ten in six countries, as well as the top twenty in several territories worldwide. The song was more successful internationally than in the United States, having peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number eighty-one, which was the song’s lowest charting position.

Death was an influential American death metal band founded in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner, and dissolved in 1999. They are widely credited as the creators of the death metal genre, from the release of their first demo in 1984. The band’s label debut Scream Bloody Gore is considered a template of the genre, described as death metal’s first archetypal document.[1] Schuldiner was the only member to remain in the band from start to end. Music biographers have referred to Schuldiner as the father of death metal
In 1993, Reinert and Masvidal left the group to continue with Cynic, Schuldiner being unable to persuade them otherwise. Schuldiner replaced them with Gene Hoglan of the recently dissolved thrash metal band Dark Angel, and worked with guitarist Andy LaRocque from King Diamond for Individual Thought Patterns. LaRocque being obligated to his band, Schuldiner hired a then-unknown Ralph Santolla as touring guitarist. Death was arguably at the peak of their commercial and popular culture success, and the video for the track The Philosopher, a lyrical slam against former guitarist Masvidal,[3] even made it on to a Beavis & Butt-head episode in 1994 (Beavis also parodies Schuldiner’s vocals in a mock ‘drive-thru’ order of ‘tacos, to go!’ in death-metal style). Also in 1994, Death abandoned their eight year relationship with Relativity and signed with Roadrunner Records, their European distributor. For 1995’s Symbolic, Santolla and DiGiorgio were exchanged for underground Florida musicians Kelly Conlon and Bobby Koelble. For the Symbolic tour Brian Benson was brought in on bass (Conlon having left the band prior to the tour due to conflicts with Schuldiner).

After Symbolic, Schuldiner dissolved the band and all ties with Roadrunner and began writing songs for Control Denied. It was during this time that Schuldiner briefly worked with Florida studio guitarist James Hogan. Schuldiner was still contractually obligated to record an album under Nuclear Blast with Death, and so he used several songs that were intended to be used for Control Denied, as several song titles on The Sound of Perseverance were originally Control Denied song titles. He re-formed Death with Florida musicians Richard Christy, Shannon Hamm and Scott Clendenin to record 1998’s The Sound of Perseverance with his new label Nuclear Blast.

After the album and two supporting tours, Schuldiner dissolved Death to pursue Control Denied with Christy and Hamm. Clendenin was dropped in favor of Steve DiGiorgio, who was once again available, and an underground power metal singer named Tim Aymar. As Schuldiner finished Control Denied’s debut album, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, forcing the band to scrap plans for a US and Canadian tour. As he worked on the second release, Schuldiner’s condition improved, but the tumor left him in a weakened, vulnerable state. He contracted pneumonia and was placed in the hospital. He was released and returned home where, one hour later, Schuldiner died on December 13, 2001
The Sound of Perseverance is the seventh and final studio album released by Death in 1998.

This album, in particular, employs a style more akin to progressive metal than the earliest Death releases, although since Human and the albums following it, the band had been developing more toward this style. The average song time on this album is around 6 minutes long.

It is rumored that some of the song names and music on The Sound of Perseverance were originally going to appear on the first Control Denied album. Schuldiner himself denied this in an interview with Metal Maniacs in 1998 by saying that none of his compositions for Control Denied had been used to fill space for a Death album. When Death was signed on to Nuclear Blast, Chuck agreed to make one last Death album before moving forward with Control Denied.

“Spirit Crusher” was the single from this album. It featured a music video that was shot live.

The Ultimate Nate Dogg Mix Pt. 2/7

Nathaniel Dwayne Hale (born August 19, 1969),[1] better known by his stage name Nate Dogg, is a Grammy-nominated American R&B/hip-hop artist and singer born in Long Beach, California

He began singing as a child in the New Hope Trinity Baptist Church choir in Clarksdale, Mississippi where his father (Daniel Lee Hale) was pastor. At the age of 16 he dropped out of high school in Long Beach, California and left home to join the United States Marine Corps, serving for three years. In 1991 Nate Dogg, his cousin Snoop Dogg,[2] and their friend Warren G, formed a rap trio called 213.

Nate Dogg made his debut on Dr. Dre’s 1992 album, The Chronic. Singing in what would later become his trademark style, he was well-received by fans and critics alike, and would go on to sign with Death Row Records in 1993. Nate Dogg was also featured on Mista Grimm’s “Indosmoke” with Warren G. Then in 1994 he produced his first hit single “Regulate” with Warren G. Nate Dogg was also featured in many Tupac releases. Then in 1998 after a tumultuous time at Death Row Records he released another album. The double album was titled G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2 and was followed up in late 2001 with Music & Me on Elektra Records. Music & Me peaked at number three on the Billboard hip-hop charts in 2001.[3]

In 2002, Nate Dogg appeared on a celebrity episode of the Weakest Link making it to the last three players before being eliminated by Xzibit and Young MC.

Nate has found his greatest success not in solo projects, but in collaborations with other hip-hop artists. As of 2004, Nate Dogg has featured in and contributed to over 60 chart singles.[4]

After a number of delays and an original release date of April 2004, his self-titled album Nate Dogg is set to be released on Affiliated Entertainment Group on June 3rd 2008.[5] Nate Dogg has already begun work on a new project.

He is also credited with being the spokesman of a blunt wrap company called “Da Bomb Blunts”.

On December 19, 2007, he suffered a stroke, according to a coordinator for his recently formed gospel choir, Innate Praise. Reports had circulated that Nate Dogg had been admitted to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona, California after suffering a heart attack. Erica Beckwith, however, confirmed to MTV News that Nate Dogg was released on December 26 after being treated for a stroke and is currently in a medical-rehab facility to assist him in his recovery. On January 18, 2008, it was officially reported that the stroke had rendered the left side of his body paralyzed. Doctors believe there will be a full recovery, and his voice was not affected.[6]

On September 15, 2008, dubcnn.com reported Nate Dogg had suffered a second stroke.

On September 16, 2008, it was reported that Dogg is in stable condition and is using an assisted – breathing tube for comfort, although he can breathe on his own.
