Is Newt Gingrich promoting the "death panels?"?

April 8th, 2011 2 comments

More than 20 percent of all Medicare spending occurs in the last two months of life. Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin

has developed a successful end-of-life,

best practice that combines: 1) community-wide advance care planning, where 90 percent of patients have advance directives; 2) hospice and palliative care; and 3) coordination of services through an electronic medical record. The Gundersen approach empowers patients and families to control and direct their care.

So it’s okay if he suggests it, but not if it is a health reform policy.

FIND TRUTH

Right ,where are they? I had to get a passport several years ago, I had one 20 years before but it expired so I needed a new one. I showed my birth certificate that was from a hospital, it was the only one I had and it was not acceptable. Since 9-11 they needed an official one from the state or city of birth not a hospital. That hospital one was good for over 50 years and now I needed another one. So I had to go to the hall of records in NYC and have a new official birth certificate printed up. So why as just an ordinary citizen did I not have a problem getting a new official birth certificate, and then a passport. Why can’t we see Obama’s official one, what is the big deal, why can’t he just show it. What is he hiding, and how did he get a passport, didn’t he have to show the birth certificate when he got it? I want to see it, I have a right to see it and so do you and all Americans!

Obamas Hawaii birth certificate confirmed

The director of Hawaiis Department of Health confirmed on Friday what Barack Obama has been saying all along: the presidential candidate was born in Honolulu.

There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obamas official birth certificate, said Chiyome Fukino. State law prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record.

Citing her statutory authority to oversee and maintain Hawaiis vital records, Fukino said she has personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obamas original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.

No state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, has ever instructed that this vital record be handled in a manner different from any other vital record in the possession of the State of Hawaii, Fukino added.

Lingle, a Republican, has been campaigning on the Mainland for Obamas opponent, Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Obama, a Democratic senator from Illinois, was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu. He graduated high school at Punahou School in 1979.

Are death records public record?

December 9th, 2009 5 comments

I know my great grandmother died in NJ, somewhere in Bergen county (Rutherford, NJ as far as I know). She had been an immigrant from England in 1942 (approx). Every web site I seem to find for vital records in NJ wants to charge just to search. I understand that there will be a charge for a copy of the record, but aren’t vital records public record?

Some are, some are not, and just because a record is public doesn’t mean the state / county has to spend the time and money to put it on-line.

Some do; West Virginia and Missouri both have wonderful web sites with some BMD records. Some don’t. RootsWeb has data bases of death record indexes from California, Kentucky and Texas, for selected years.

If you have ever read "Day of the Jackal", you may remember how the bad guy got a birth certificate for a child that was born about the time he was but had died young and pretended it was his; he then used it to get a passport. The authorities are more wary these days, but identity thieves are more sophisticated. So, may state and counties are less eager to give out information than they used to be.
