Supreme Court Death Sentence on Alaskan Lake

October 12th, 2011 3 comments

In a 6-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has given Lower Slate Lake in the Tongass National Forest of Alaska, a death sentence. The ruling overturns a 9th District Court decision that revoked the permit issued by the Army Corps of Engineers that allowed Coeur Alaska’s Kensington gold mine to dump its mine tailings directly into the lake, killing all aquatic life in it. The Clean Water Act clearly states that you can’t dump mine waste into a water body, but the Corp of Engineers cleverly changed the name “waste” to “fill” and permitted the action, essentially killing the lake.

I find this decision appalling and in defiance of logic. Where is the justice in a decision like this. Are the 370 well paying jobs that this mining operation is creating worth the environmental destruction that it creates? I don’t think so.

WASHINGTON IS MAKING UP ALL THE NEWS FOR THE MEDIA TO REPORT ON

Here are FBI MOST WANTED TERRORISTS and their online aliases. Some are wanted for U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya & Indonesia. Do these two places ring any bells?

Search Google Images for;
Mark Joyner Simpleology-Seif Al Adel (Sarah Palin’s book Palinology)
John Ferrero-Ramadan Shallah
Yaro Starak-Umar Patek
Armand Morin-Noordin M Top (said to be killed in Indonesia and now removed from the FBI’s list)
(Like the death of Osama "story")
Michael Filsaime-Ali Sayyid Muhamed Mustafa al-Bakri
Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian-Ammar Mansour Bouslim
Ted Ciuba-Abdul Rahman Yasin

Many get rich quick scams serve as product placement for new cutting edge internet technologies, and logos, some sold through Clickbank. The people appearing in testimonials are part of the expansion of this organization and are often pitching other high priced products and services. They all link to one another through their marketing strategies and ability to optimize in search rankings.

Between the aliases the use, and the way in which they speak about things, everything they do has double meaning. Their faces in Google image search is similar to the picture book of symbols mentioned in The Da Vinci Code movie. Here is a code of look a likes pitching all sorts of stuff who are interconnected;

Selling a program on making millions online is Professor James Bradley who looks like the Pentagon bomber Bill Ayers.

Jay Conrad Levinson is behind a number of “guerilla” marketing and advertising books. He looks like George Soros, who’s last name is a (palin)drome. Soros has been credited for collapsing a number of nation’s currencies. George Soros has been quoted several times regarding his views on a New World Order.

The Super Affiliate Handbook is sold by someone who looks like Jill Biden, her name is Rosalind Gardner. Some appear to represent people, more in how they pose, rather then a direct look alike. Stephen Pierce appears to represent radical Van Jones, Brett McFall-Austan Goolsbee, John Childers-Andy Stern, and Jay Abraham as Ayman al-Zawahri, just to name a few.

Problem with your Google Adwords PPC ads and can’t get a straight answer? You could try Yanik Silver who looks a lot like Sergei Brin, but he probably won’t know. He sells 33 Days to Online Profits (prophets.) Why not try Perry Marshall, who looks like Obama’s priest Reverend Pfleger? He sells The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords, infringing upon Google’s trademark.

Many more can be found at Lorrie Morgan Ferrero’s Red-Hot-Copy blog such as; 72 Virgin Records Richard Branson, & White House Party Crashers the Salahi’s with Valerie Jarrett’s daughter.

The Rich Jerk sent out emails promoting Stompernet in Atlanta Georgia. The staff included Brad Fallon, an airline pilot, and Eben Pagan selling a seminar "Get Altitude". 3 days after reporting this code to the FBI, Delta in Atlanta canceled a large number of flights due to “safety reasons.” In the Youtube videos related to the Rich Jerk, it appears that Mark Cuban is the Rich Jerk. He’s the billionaire who owns the Dallas Maverick’s basketball team. Think O’bomber or Barrac-uda Palin would play for him? Another guy seen on Youtube claiming to be Robert Johnson Rich Jerk, is Tony Rezko.

Obama announced his run for office on Oprah Winfrey’s show. Have you ever noticed that Oprah’s friend Gayle King looks like Whitney Houston? Think that her name could be a code, Whit_ney White-Hous_ton House?

It appears the internet marketing experts controlled the comments, the headlines, and the finance of the last election online with the highest ranking site in Google search, Youtube.

In my strongest opinion this is the last piece of the puzzle, Osama Bin Laden is also a spokesperson, and a look-a-like. Osama represents Obama/Biden (Bi)n La(den.)

Are Democrats also becoming sick of Obama’s ‘Chicago style’ politics?

April 28th, 2011 8 comments

We all know that Obama has won every election by underhanded means.

Illinois State Senate:
Obama got his opponent disqualified on a technicality- a favorite of Chicago Machine politicians. The Chicago machine made sure that Illinois has several conflicting election rules. They get one of their crooked judges to hold up someone’s candidacy until the election is over when they are exonerated- a bit too late! Obama was trailing in the polls at the time.

U.S. Senate:
Obama won by smearing his opponent. Obama got another crooked Chicago Machine judge to unseal Jack Ryan’s sealed divorce records- then exploited his wife’s (actress Jeri Ryan) claims of deviant sexual practices. Obama was trailing at the time.

President:
Obama saw that Sarah Palin was an instant game-changer, and dispatched 1,500 smear artists to Alaska starting the day after she was announced as V.P. candidate. He (along with the duplicitous liberal-biased media) wasn’t going to take any chances with his coronation. The lies and smears against Palin and family will likely go down as the low point of American political history.

Now America faces it’s worst crisis in decades- runaway debt!
Obama himself acknowledged the problem a couple of months ago.
He said that the crisis is so important to solve, that no partisan attacks should take place and we all have to work together to solve it.
Then Obama turns around last week and launches the most vile partisan attack against the GOP and the Ryan plan in particular- all but accusing the GOP of wanting to starve Grandma to death!
In typical Chicago style, Obama made sure Paul Ryan was sitting in the front row with no forum to answer, as Obama launched these vile attacks. It was nothing more than petty payback against Ryan because Ryan made Obama look uninformed and stupid during the Obamacare debate.

Are these petty, lack of leadership tactics what America wants to see during these very troubling times? I think not. I’ve been following Presidential politics since LBJ, and I haven’t seen behavior as slimy and shameful as what Obama engages in.

I know that there is a small segment of morally bankrupt Alinsky-ites who have an "ends justifies the means" attitude, and don’t care what Obama does as long as they get what they want- but the other 85% of Americans must be as appalled as I am, right?

Your thoughts?

Hardly any of this is true. And what is true is SOP for politics.

What are your thoughts on this? (Sarah Palin)?

Five myths about Sarah Palin 1. Palin cost McCain the 2008 election. She didn’t. CNN’s 2008 national exit poll, for example, asked voters whether Palin was a factor when they stepped into the voting booth. Those who said yes broke for McCain 56 percent to 43 percent. With her by his side, McCain’s fundraising and support from conservatives improved.
2. Resigning as governor was rash. When Palin returned to Alaska , she confronted three problems. The political coalition on which she had based her governorship had collapsed. Her critics were using Alaska’s tough ethics laws to launch investigations into her behavior, sapping her finances and her energy. Finally, every time she traveled to the Lower 48, Alaskans criticized her for putting her political interests above the state’s. Palin’s solution was to resign. Her agenda stood a better chance of passing if Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell succeeded her as governor. As a private citizen, meanwhile, Palin could make enough money to pay her legal bills.
3. Palin and the tea party are destroying the GOP.The reality is that Palin and the tea party are saving the GOP by dragging it back to its roots and mobilizing conservative voters. Remember, by the time Palin arrived on the national scene, the Republican Party was depleted, exhausted and held in disrepute. An unpopular war in Iraq, an economy in recession and GOP corruption had driven away independents. Meanwhile, massive government spending and a liberal immigration policy had dispirited conservatives. In the wake of Obama’s historic victory, she and countless other grass-roots activists could have abandoned the GOP and turned the tea party into a conservative third party. They didn’t. They decided instead to refashion the Republican Party from the ground up, pressuring it to live up to its limited-government ideals. Now, two years after Obama’s win, Republicans have reaped major gains in the midterm elections. Palin and the tea party haven’t hurt the GOP one bit.
4. Palin is extreme. On many of the most important issues of the day, Palin holds positions that are squarely in the center-right of American political discourse. And many of those positions, not incidentally, are held by a large segment or even a majority of the public. For instance, neither the public nor Palin believes the stimulus worked. While most Americans may not share Palin’s views regarding "death panels," many join her in opposing Obama’s health-care overhaul. Over the past two years, Pew and Gallup surveys have tracked the public as it has moved to the right — not on just one or two issues but on a whole constellation of issues. Even on the controversial topics of abortion, guns and same-sex marriage, Palin is not far away from the center. A May 2009 Gallup poll, for example, found that a majority of Americans identified as "pro-life" rather than "pro-choice." In October 2009, Gallup measured record-low support for gun control. The public is divided on same-sex marriage, with about half the country joining Palin’s opposition.
5. Palin is unelectable. Without question, a Palin 2012 campaign would be an uphill battle. Palin is unpopular — massively so among Democrats, decisively so among independents. Even many Republicans don’t believe she’s ready to be president. But opinions can change. Look at the political resuscitations of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Hillary Rodham Clinton. If Palin works hard and runs an impressive campaign, wavering Republicans and skeptical independents may give her a second look. To earn that second look, she may need to find a big idea. It’s hard to become president without one. Reagan had supply-side economics and the end of detente with the Soviets. George W. Bush had compassionate conservatism and the freedom agenda. Obama had national unity and hope and change. At the moment, however, Palin still expresses her agenda mainly in negative terms, focusing on her opposition to Obama and the Washington establishment. She hasn’t defined her common-sense conservatism" in positive language. And she hasn’t found a unifying, exhilarating theme. Then again, she just might get along without one. After all, a presidential contest is a choice. The public might not love Palin. But by 2012, Americans might absolutely despise Obama. Two more years of a bad economy and an unpopular Afghan war and anything could happen.
Alvin….It is the "seasoned hand" that has resulted in the decline of America’s influence in the world. She could not do a worse job than Obama…. His bowing, scraping and pandering to every nation, including our enemies, not only has been a national embarrassment but has made us the "joke" of the world. Maybe a little fresh faced national pride, open and honest, is what our nation needs.
Governor Palin negotiated with a hard nose greedy oil industry and won a contract that even her severest critics say was a major win for the people of Alaska. She is plain speaking and honest….a refrehing change in American politics
Bobby…..I keep hearing she is "dumb"…..but none of her history would seem to support that conclusion…She had the highest approval rating for job performance of any governor in America…..she got straight A’s in school and was a member of the Honor Society….she earned a degree….. she has core principles which even when it is to her advantage….she won’t compromise. She is plain spoken, no vacillation or political double speak. Yes, she has made some gaffs…..misspoke…..but then so has President Obama…..and do not even mention the Vice President…..his gaffs are a national embarrassment and the stuff of which legends are composed

I think nothing about it.

I’m not obsessed with Sarah Palin.

California Bicycle Accident Lawyer’s Top Ten Last Things You Least Want to See to Avoid Being in a Ca Bicycle Accident

March 14th, 2011 No comments

1. An out of control tanker truck.

2. A pack of wild hyenas.

3. Your boss chasing you.

4. The police calling your name through a megaphone.

5. Sarah Palin.

6. Your house up in smoke.

7. Your car rolling down the street without the emergency brake on.

8. Your dog making a dash for freedom.

9. Your dog making a dash for the poodle next door.

10. Your dog making a leap for you to say hi.

Here are ten useful tips of advice from a California bicycle accident lawyer to follow if you have been in an accident. You can also learn more about how to handle a bicycle accident in California, or any city in CA, by calling the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson at any of the numbers which can be found on our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learning how we can assist you.

Obviously, if you have had an accident, and you are reading all of this advice, it’s probably been at least a few days since the accident. However, if it’s only been a few hours or if you ever have another accident, here’s what you should do the next time from the start.

First, take a look around and determine if you or anyone, are hurt. If so, taking steps like trying to prevent further injury or loss of blood are the most important thing you can do. Even if some other driver caused you to be injured, it’s just good manners to help the other driver if they are hurt. They may even be so thankful that they admit their fault to you. The worst thing you can do is get angry or start a fight.

Second, make sure everyone is safe from being injured further. If you are in the middle of traffic, and you are dizzy, sit down away from traffic. If your vehicle is a traffic hazard and you have accident warning devices like flares or triangles, put them out on the road to warn other drivers and get away from the car. Let the police an other emergency personnel investigate the scene with the vehicles in place and move them more safely at a later point.

Third, call the police. Accident reports are extremely helpful if the police will do such a report. Let the police know you are injured immediately. Answer the police questions honestly. But if you are dazed or confused, let them know you need medical treatment and answer only what you feel sure about. Remember, your statements can and will be used against you if you admit fault, and it will be too late and too fishy to later say you didn’t know what you were saying at the scene. Police know that your best recollection is immediately after an accident.

Fourth, get the other driver’s information including their names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, make and model of their vehicles, license plate numbers, and their insurance company name and policy number. If there are witnesses, get their names, addresses and telephone numbers as well. If the other driver makes any admissions of fault, write those down as well.

Fifth, if you have a camera on your cell phone or in the car and you aren’t too injured, take some photos of the vehicles and the scene. If you can’t do it right away, do it after you are released from the hospital.

Sixth, if you are hurt, obtain medical treatment. Don’t decline the ambulance or hospital examination to save your insurance company money or to be stoic. Take your valuables out of your car if you can and get checked out at the hospital. If you are not hurt, don’t get treatment you don’t need. However, remember, after an accident, you may feel a rush of adrenaline that causes you to only start feeling symptoms of pain a few hours later. If you have a health plan that requires you to obtain permission first, call them and find out where you are allowed to seek treatment.

Seventh, call a good California bicycle accident lawyer as soon as you have had your initial treatment, so the California attorney can gather other important evidence and prevent the insurance company from taking advantage of you and obtaining such things as recorded statements that you feel fine, when many of your symptoms have yet to manifest themselves. A good California bicycle accident lawyer can save you from making a great deal of mistakes and can shoulder much of the hassle of knowing what to do about car repairs, car rentals, medical treatment, witness statements and the like. If you think you will save money by not having a California attorney, think again. A good California bicycle accident lawyer can almost always obtain much higher settlements, obtain reductions of medical bills and insurance liens and prevent you from making costly mistakes. Also, most California bicycle accident attorneys advance costs of obtaining police reports, medical records and the like and are paid and reimbursed for these costs only out of any settlement.

Eight, you will need to report the accident to your insurance company, but since they will want to take a recorded statement from you, just like any other driver’s insurance company, it’s good advice to retain a California attorney first. And if the other driver did not have insurance, remember that it is your own insurance company that will be your adversary. You will also need to report the accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles and your California lawyer can give you the form for this.

Ninth, do not agree to settle your claim privately with the person at fault for the accident. This almost never works out to your advantage. Don’t agree not to call the police. Police reports that determine the fault for an accident are golden. Your agreement to not involve the police only affords an opportunity for the other driver to change his story and blame you when the police will no longer investigate the accident.

Tenth, don’t pay a traffic ticket without a fight if you weren’t at fault or agree to accept a small payment for your vehicle repairs without knowing that the amount will in fact cover the cost of all the repairs.

If you’ve had a bicycle accident anywhere in California, in San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs, Rancho Cucamonga, Santa Barbara, Yorba Linda, Tustin, Lake Forest, Fountain Valley, Rancho Santa Margarita, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Orange, Fullerton, Costa Mesa, or anywhere in Southern CA, we have the knowledge and resources to be your California Bicycle Accident Lawyer and your CA Bicycle Accident Attorney. Be sure to hire a California law firm with auto, motorcycle, truck, bicycle, pedestrian, car, bus, train, boat and airplane accident experience, wrongful death experience and insurance law expertise who can ensure you are properly represented and get the compensation you deserve.

If you have a personal injury legal matter, a dog bite or if you’ve lost a loved one in a wrongful death accident, call the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson, or visit our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learn how we can assist you.

One Intelligent reason to Vote for Your candidate? Vote 2008!!!!?

March 24th, 2010 4 comments

If you watch Fox News(Rep TV) or MSNBC(Dem TV) you wont be able to articulate an Intelligent answer to this question seeing as you don’t get Intelligent information to start off with. =)

Im an Independent aka thinking voter lol.

So that’s the question who should i vote for… ill tell you right now when this all started i was stuck between Gov. Richardson(D-NM)[the only candidate with an international track record] and Sen. McCain[if he wants to go to war he knows first had how bad it gets] but then Richardson didn’t make it and McCain changed everything he believed in to appeal to his base, so is he a liar or is he a liar. i have a thing about liars. so that leaves me with this dude talking about change will he do it? he better! Im leaning real hard toward Obama.
Reasons i don’t like either

Obama, we all know this country is still very racist things could happen to him leaving Bidden in charge who is a washington insider and agrees fully with The RIAA who need to get over them selves i swear greedy, moral-less, capitalists will be the death of this country unless they manage to take the whole world down with them. oddly starting to come true.

McCain, first i don’t like liars but he gets off the hook because hes in politics. i like the old McCain a lot but this isn’t him. my biggest concern is HES 70 SOMETHING!!!! have you seen AL DAVIS!?!? owner of the Raiders picture him running a country that’s barely standing. he did just change everything he believed that’s not a good sign of mental stability…But the real reason i don’t want to vote for him is Sarah Palin… you gotta be kidding me that’s the most pathetic move to try and get Hillary supporters! and its so Pathetic because there were so many more qualified WOMEN he could have chosen. hes old like may die of natural causes any moment old… and from what she’s showing us so far she DOES NOT have what it takes to run this country in times like this. that’s nice about she ran po dunk Vill. a budget that involves a couple hundred things and a few million dollars is a WHOLE different world from millions and trillions nothing agisnt Alaska its not the largest places in the world population wise. I belive he can still change his Vp pick thats his best chance at winning this election. lol Sarah Palin hahaha and i thought it was gonna be the dems that did something stupid and gift wrapped it for the repubs lol amazing!! to say the least.

So tell me why you think i should vote for the same guy you are.

most repubs are scare of obama cause he going to raise tax’s for his programs- well since that wall-street bailout was passed- congress is going to have to raise tax’s- so being sacred of that should not be a real issue- all those programs that each candidate wants to put into law will not get passed.
who ever wins the president need to sit down and look at the laws on the books already and see if they can try to straight that out first.

look for me i keep coming back to the question and no-one has not answer it for me: Mccain been in office for over 20 yrs- so why all he said that he could do haven’t happen? He also said that he’s one of those type of guys that can cross party lines well what happen?
He claims that he can find Osama, well why haven’t he conveyed this message to his good friend bush, so the troops can get him.
another thing is with this drilling: well if they start drilling off the coast or in alaska- it’s going to take 10 yrs to get oil from the earth- ok since they knew that this oil was there why are they now talking about drilling when it probably was not even thinking about it untill it got worst. i remember when katrina hit and that week after it happen- gas went up then to- so why didn’t start drilling then?
about sarah parlin; her views scares the crap out of me- her abortion views, her reglious views. i believe in a time of need the women has the right to do with what she wants with her body. i really don’t want you preaching your religious rules on me.

most of the repubs are sacred of obama cause of his race, they been misled to believe he was muslin, arab and whatever—
these people need to realize that this nation was bulit on religious difference.
quite frankly the people that need to be sacred of is the indians who land they took right from under there nose and abuse them.
they also talk about mccain has experience to be president- just because he been in congress for 26 yrs- they way i see it he haven’t held that office- so he doesn’t have experience.
we need to think about this crap- the old way is not working give someone else a chance to get it right or mess it up even more.

all i know is voted how you think the candidate have your best intreast in mind- not on fear or race.
we going to have some long lean years coming up and who ever gets in will no be able to do in 2 or 3 yrs. it might come at the end of the presidency.

i like this been voting for someone different every time i vote and always got stuck with someone that didn’t or couldn’t do they job.

Why should Sarah Palin get a free ride from media and public scrutiny?

March 16th, 2010 13 comments

She’s got an abysmal voting record, particularly when it comes to the enviroment and alternative fuel debates. (She supports shooting wolves and bears from the air, an illegal act since the Airborne Hunting act of 1972 – Alaska is currently gunning down wolves in planes and helicopters, claiming ‘population control’ when there is no scientific basis to support it. She also threatened to sue the US congress to remove the Polar Bear’s new status as "threatened" because it infringed upon her plans for pipelines and drilling. The BUSH administration gave the Polar Bear that status!)

She supported the "bridge to nowhere" then withdrew her support- but accepted 25 million dollars partially to build a road that leads to the site of the bridge to nowhere.

She attends a church that recently featured a public speaker that said "God delivers judgment in the form of terrorists" claiming that Israelis deserve to be killed.

She claims to be against special interests and lobbyists and earmarks yet campaigned vigorously for a 6,000 person town to get 27 million in earmarks. My own town has 4X this many people and some wicked vicious potholes that could easily be plugged with oh, 10 million, BTW.

She decries ALL abortions. Even those in the cases of rape, possible death to the mother, and pregnancy resulting from incest. So if you’re a 12 year old who was raped by your father and might die, oh well!

Sarah Palin entered politics as her profession. Why does she now think that all the aspects of her political person should be off limits?

If she’s going to be the VP to a candidate that very well might die in office due to his age and questionable health, I as a voter, feel like I have the right to damn well know EVERYTHING I can about her before she is in control of what happens in my child’s life.

Your thoughts?
EDIT: The media has been focusing on the pregnant daughter. I’ve heard stories that Palin’s infant is actually her grandchild. BUT- no one is grilling her about why she didn’t chastise her kid for not practicing abstinance- or asking her views on birth control for teens. They just keep saying "her family is off limits" which of course just keeps creating more wild rumors…
EDIT: SEXIST. HA! Didn’t work for Hillary, did it? What’s good for the goose should be good for another goose.
Ice T: Wanna see a video of an Alaska Fish and Game agent killing a wolf from a plane? Want Sarah Palin’s voting record- I’ll get you the link. Want the script of her bit ching to remove the Polar Bear? Get you that. Want clips of her saying she "hasn’t paid attention" to Iraq?

All those clips are lies? God damn, that’s a big padded box you live in.
Margaret: Obama hasn’t been in the Senate for 8 years. Also, Jeremiah Wright’s worst statement didn’t come close to: "The Jews are reaping God’s wrath in the form of Terrorists."
And for the record, I have asked plenty of questions about Obama and was never 100% in his court anyway. I used to call McCain "the only Republican I’d consider voting for" and was proud of him when he, along with 6 other Repubs voted against Bush/Cheney to open ANWAR to drilling.

Palin wants to drill ANWAR tomorrow. How long before McCain agrees? Drilling is not, will not, will never be the answer. Oil is over. McCain and Palin are misleading the public into thinking there is independence in oil so that they can continue to support oil companies that give them huge donations.

Obama has at least sketched out a plan to go against oil and to put USA on the cutting edge of alternative fuels.

Unless you’d like to CONTINUE paying the Japanese for everything new and advanced and LOGICAL…
EDIT AGAIN: Oh, that bit I just said about being proud of McCain and considering voting for him? That was before he crawled up to George Bush and licked his boots like a bad dog looking for a biscuit.

The real "Maverick" McCain, the real fighter, the real visionary, is gone. The Bush/Cheney Machine ground him up and spit him out like so much byproduct. Now he is hazardous waste.
EDIT: NO Chetco, I don’t. And I’ll support my statements with voting records and video statements, if you like

She shouldn’t get a free ride. She’s some kind of ultra – conservative nutcase if you ask me,after seeing footage from her church. She is anti – Israel,anti- everything, and she’s a danger to the environment and the animals that live in it.And you’re right about John McCain.I really didn’t mind him before, but now it’s like SHE’S the one running for president and he is just following her.It really scares me that if he dies,we are stuck with her!! And she doesn’t like cats, either! Never trust anyone who doesn’t like cats!!

Did Sarah Palin lie during her speech last night? What say you?

March 8th, 2010 8 comments

Here’s a list of what seem to be lies and distortions, what do you think?:

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress ‘thanks but no thanks’ for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama’s plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain’s plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

http://news.yahoo.com/story//ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_fact_check

In fact, the Tax Policy Institute concluded that everyone making under $250k per year will receive a tax CUT under Obama’s plans.

Yes…she totally lied. Especially about that bridge to nowhere…she was SO behind it until it became an embarrassment. I guess she was for it before she was against it?

Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP convention

By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

Some examples:
MCCAIN: "She’s been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America’s energy supply … She’s responsible for 20 percent of the nation’s energy supply. I’m entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News’ Charles Gibson.
THE FACTS: McCain’s phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she’s no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.
MCCAIN: "She’s the commander of the Alaska National Guard. … She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.
THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska’s national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.
FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."
THE FACTS: A whopper. Pali
