Is there any landmark/area of land/place that has a history of making people crazy?

August 19th, 2011 4 comments

I don’t know if any of you have read/seen ‘Wisconsin Death Trip,’ but something akin to that. Are there any cities or areas of land that have a historical record of people going insane or an unusually high rate of murders?

This is interesting, but what follows is as much as I have heard on the subject.

1. The Santa Cruz Mountains in California have long had the reputation for either making people crazy or drawing crazy people to them. I read somewhere that these mts were avoided at night time by tribes living in the area prior to European settlers, for bad medicine reasons. It is said that people who are in love or couples, will break up one month after having a picnic or romantic trist in the area. In the 1970s, this area was the murder capital of America. The Santa Cruz MTS is also home of the "Mystery Spot" which is a long story. Plenty of serial killers like Ed Kemper had a body count in the area. During the drought a few years ago, two skeletal remains of women were found near the Lexington Reservoir on HWY 17/880 at two separate times, and they were estimated to have been there for 15 years or so. Also, the Atascadero Mental Institution is located in the Santa Cruz Mts. This place is known for dangerous road hazards and car wrecks, as well as:

2. Pacheco Pass, HWY 152, in Gilroy, California south of San Jose near Los Banos, has had long bloody history of battles between tribes and Spanish soldiers and murders as well as paranormal events such as hauntings and visions by otherwise normal people. The tribal people had lived there for centuries prior to the Spanish, and even today, it is said to be a spiritual place; there is a Pow-Wow there every year, the best in the region in my view.

There have been one or two books on Pacheco Pass. Psychic Sylvia Browne said she had had a bad vision of murders while driving there at night. There have been hundreds of car wrecks in the area since the 1930s and earlier.

3. Power Plants: Studies have shown that mental illness, cancer, and other ailments occur when homes and business are built at or near a power center or plant. The residue electrrical output that floods the area, for lack of a better explanation, has been associated with physical or mental problems. One McDonald’s Restaurant in Santa Clara, California had power lines and was placed next to a power plant, resulting in a range to employee-related problems from mental stress to auto-immune and fertility problems. I think OSHA or the EPA did a study on this phenomena years ago.

Hope this helps.

I agree that the death penalty should be for Sex offender on Kids Recently on the state of texas It looks the congress is working in the law to be approval Are you in Favor? or Agaisnt?
The chances of getting the wrong person for a crime is now 0% in my opinion and mostly when they have LONG criminal records I mean I see on tv they arrest people with 4 to 11 pages in crime history I mean that people is just Not right
Why should animals be allowed to live like Ian Huntley or any other rapers or serial killers that could be your neightbor or your friend Would you loose any sleep if he was dead?
I thought not What do you think
I THINK THAT BRITNEY IT’S RIGHT WE SHOULD HAVE A ISLAND WHERE WE SEND THEM THERE AND DIE THERE BECAUSE JAIL IS A JOKE I HAD SEEN PEOPLE GET OUT AND COMMINT CRIMES SAME DAY THAT THEY’RE OUT AND THAT’S NOT RIGHT AND IT MATTER FACT ALL THAT PROCESS FOR "REHAB" COMES FROM OUR WORK FROM OUR MONEY FROM OUR TAXES OFCORSE I WANT A SAFETY PLACE WHERE I KNOW MY CHILDS AND MY WIFE AND MY FAMILY WOULD BE NOT CRIME BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO THINK TWICE BEFORE THEY DO IT,… I THINK THAT IS A GREAT IDEA A PLACE WHERE THEY STAY THERE AND SURVIVE AS GOD’S WILL
Brittany Im sorry I said Britney and well education, talent show, phone calls, 3 meals a day, recreation time, a hot shower, movies, visits… well for Someone that has a long history in crimes and sex offenders?
Now how "New Dog Owner" prespective look Yes I’m with him 1st offenders and people with regular crimes everyone can be a victim and everyone can be a Offender a Trafic ticket I had before, speeding ticket, being drunk when I was a kid, I mean I can understand that but we’re talking about people who they wake up and there thought is have Sex with your child or Mine and some they would do it some they don’t but for those I don’t need to know they’re guilty or not no one can have thoughts like that,… before was hard to prove guiltyness now this days is DNA, and Cientific Test that are 99% right so I would Doud about that?
well Thank you so much for your answers and opinion by the way Yes this is just Yahoo I appoligize for the bad spelling but when you speak or you know 3 languages it’s hard and I believe for the lady there she said that I need sound educated well, bad spelling or bad accent that doesn’t mean that I’m not intelligent to know what’s right or what’s wrong now if My profesion was a writter or news man or something have to be with my accent or my spelling I would call you ok? lol

death penalty takes too LONG and too much MONEY. instead of losing troops we should drop off the criminals and a box of weapons and if they win the war they win their freedom… in ANOTHER COUNTRY!

Take no offense..This is merely what I think my generation is facing as of now..?

Desensitization.

You turn on the news and here about another bomb killing 8 innocent bystanders.

This is nothing new. Their bodies haven’t yet been identified because forensics has yet to uncover dental records and put limbs back with individuals.

In Maine a little girl is raped and her body is found in a reservoir 15 streets down from her house. This angers you a little bit, but once again this is just the world we live in you say to yourself sipping your cafe mocha.

An Illinois Governor is on trial for corruption. You add sugar to your caffeinated beverage. Once again you sneer and judge his motive and think nothing of the two ideas of Politician+Corruption= Reality.

In the mocha universe everything is nothing and nothing means everything. We hear about our government s trying to pass 950 million dollar direct TV bills instead of finding out why everyday hundreds of lunatics are flooding into the streets caused by overpopulation and poor conditions in institutions.

The art of creating an entire generation bent on taking it farther and farther is by far the craftiest tool ever created. Were a group of XXX porn stars driving fast cars and getting kicked out of bars. We have an open community of information and videos with little to no regulation.

So when at little Jimmy at the age of 14 goes and sees a reporter get his head hacked off by militant Arab’s we wonder why he suffers from anxiety or ends up doing the same to the old lady down the street.

Statistically there are only 25,000 serial killers running loose in the U.S. Not all active but kinetic energy flows through their motive.

Were the only generation to take in so many violent, sexual, and rebellious images, which in turn is why most of us missed a child hood and grew up so fast. Ultimately desensitization surrenders the idea of empathy and creates an army of soldiers who feel next to nothing.

That’s not to say were all emotionless robots ready for our next rectal tune-up. It is a strange idea of what kind of parents, judges, police officers, writers, artist, and musicians our group of crazies will be tho..No generation before us has been as extreme, prodigal, angry, frustrated, blinded, hazed, and abused as us.

So keep starring into your chocolate mocha looking for a reflection. Keep wondering why it’s so hard to feel. Why do you believe evil men deserve more than death? That they deserve torture? Because you are desensitized. Congrats! Your an American.
psyc.

This question wasnt intended for rebuddle. This sis only a demonstration of reality and the medias overall control over sex and aviolence intertwined with irresponsibility. If I wanted to write about taxi drivers and rainbows I would have done so. This is reality and yes there are good people no doubt. I dont choose to focus on negatiity only address it.

Its true good things go unseen but without a counsciousness of the evil in the world we cant appreciate the good. so as for your statement Im with the idea of seeing good doctors and honest men.

Bu this is reality not my point of view. And if its not your reality then you live in a false one. Why? Because the way of the world (In my life) is to repay evil with unconditional love, but to still know that there will never be peace if there is an entire generation that has been DESENSITIZED.

There is nothing new under the sun. Personally, I would rather live now than one hundred years ago. But you’re right…the ease of obtaining information and engaging the senses has definitely desensitized us to a lot of hardships around us. Try not to focus too much on it.
