It Only Took Police 20 Minutes to find the Lady Who Was Missing for a Week Once They Actually Agreed to Look?

May 26th, 2010 9 comments

A husband had tried for a week to get police to actually look for his wife.

The police finally got off their tail on the 8th day after she went missing.

The police simply checked cell phone triangulation records. The police found her within 20 minutes.

Why did it take so long for police to take action?

The lady luckily is alive but wasn’t far from death. She’s still in serious condition at the hospital with kidney failure.

Which party is the governor of Washington state? She he apologize for doing a poor job?

Imagine if some kids were allowed to die because the police took too little action. Imagine if a child lost a parent because the police wouldn’t do a tiny bit of work for a week.

Yikes… It’s possible that the governor is a Democrat. Should we simply blame the White House?

WOW! Talk about lucky. That husband should be given a medal by the police department.
Thanks for sharing this amazing story.
Note to self: Tell husband to claim that I’m without my meds, if I ever go missing!

Clarifying a previously asked question about my great-great-grandfather?

I had asked this question a few days ago:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap_TSB9DpPUGSXtoVGoyo3_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080111174052AAWAZYi

I have since noted a few mistakes in what I had said.

1) I can’t figure out who he was because I can’t figure out what his last name was. I ca find his wife without a problem because she died later and everyone had her death information.
2) I can’t seem to find anyone on the Ellis Island record site, and I’m not familiar with any research libraries locally (though I’m sure there must be one. I live in Los Angeles. It’s more an issue of being able to get to one that isn’t an hour away).
3) Nobody remembers him because the oldest members of the family were too young when he died to remember (and the eldest had moved to California shortly before the death and remembers very little).

My question is this: how can I find what his last name was with the little information that I have?

Thank you all so much. You have been so helpful already
I know exactly when and where she died, but I have no record of her death, other than the fact that my grandmother wrote it down in a book.

Drop me a note through my profile and I’ll do my best to help you find his name. There are a lot of questions to ask you that are hard to fit on this one screen, but it has to do with where they lived before he moved and what everyone else’s names were. We can narrow it down with census, voter registration, land records, etc. Then we can refine it with marriage, death and birth records, and especially with church records if they were Christian. The good news is that our ancestors never go anywhere. The bad news is that some did a better job and hiding themselves than did others. But as long as he didn’t live between 1800-1868, we should be able to find him pretty quickly.

search for relatives burial site?

with the help of ‘yahoo answers’ still have not found where relative is buried in Effort Pennsylvania… so I was wondering if this is because he may have been cremated and therefore a different search field is required….if I contact the County do you pay for death records

Whether death records are available at all in a particular county and whether you have to pay for them will vary from county to county.

Effort is in Monroe County. Pennsylvania death certificates (since 1906) are available for a fee from the state. They use a 3rd party vendor (Vitalchek) to process the requests and payments. – http://vitalchek.com/agency_locator.aspx?EventType=Death.

There’s no guarantee that the death certificate will list a place of burial.

They have got everything they wanted so far. Like children if you give everything there is no boundaries.

And my brother whos name is also Craig, his age is somewhere around 21 (I think), last known to have lived with his mom Michel in Chaska… Anyone… any suggestions that wouldnt be obvious to me?
Thank you Pax for going the extra mile.. although I came up with the same info & know that none of that is recent. He has been dovorced to Collett and also has moved from Waco as well… But thank you very much!

Agreed, Ancestry.com is a great place provided you have a membership. I did a search on your behalf and came up with the following information, I pray that this will help you in your search.

I found a Marriage in Scott, Minnesota for a Craig A. Ladwig who was 34 at the time, married Collette B. Lehne (born 1955) on June 8, 1990.

Also, a listing for a Craig Ladwig (no middle initial) Born April 1956 living at 2828 N. 15th A St., Waco, Texas 76708 with a telphone listing 254-753-5621, this came from the public record No. 555016429

First put this post on the Austin site. Round Rock is a suburb of Austin.

Since they are family members, do you know the line of work they are in? The denomination of church they attend, any special needs or interests they might have?

All of these things can be leads in finding them.

Looking for a CRAIG in…..?

There’s a whole website devoted to the family. Check out craigslist.com
