Do you think the GOP is in a "Death Spiral"?

December 3rd, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Joe Repya, a Minnesota Republican who ran for party chair in 2007, is now quitting the GOP. The Iraq and Vietnam war veteran, who was Co-Chair of Minnesota Veterans for Bush-Cheney in 2004, wrote in the Pioneer Press:

After years of ineffective party leadership resulting in a record number of defeats, lack of transparency in party dealings, alleged financial impropriety by former party employees, and numerous Federal Election Commission problems, can you really blame the electorate for abandoning the Minnesota GOP?

On June 13, the party continued its death spiral by electing the same failed leadership that has lost the last two elections. The "old guard" network of the GOP State Central Delegates continued to imitate lemmings gleefully following each other over the cliff to the political abyss below. […]

In my opinion, the new party leaders are rabid, power-hungry ideologues and the former attack dogs of the previous party chairman. They will not provide a message of inclusiveness or willingness to discuss contrary opinions. Honest, open and transparent party operations will not exist.

Heaven forbid you criticize Republicans and the GOP. That’s hands off.

But by all means, feel free to bash them Democrats!

To be clear, I personally find Obama to be an arrogant, shameless, and empty-suited politician who is corrupt, lying, and willing to throw anyone aside should they get in the way of his quest. He’s used the black community where it suited him, panders to any group for a vote, and claims credit for the work of others. Further, he’s never done anything for himself and is quick to blame others when criticized. I am especially troubled by his cult following and his paid a legion of foul mouthed morons who propagandize for him and respond to every criticism with derogatory, racist, and sexist rants. Finally, Obama’s cries of racism increasingly fall on deaf ears because he’s been the one using it to corner every advantage.

No. You may wish the GOP is done but you have to remember that we have to have a Carter to get a Reagan. That is what’s going to happen in 2012. Just watch!
