Which stadiums/venues are the most intimidating for visiting opponents in NCAA football?

I’ve heard that "The Swamp" (Florida) is a very difficult place to play, "The Big House" (Michigan), "Death Valley" (LSU), "The Coliseum" (USC), and "The Rose Bowl" (UCLA) are also supposed to be tough venues. Along with these places, I think that Boise St.’s blue field is one of the most difficult places to play because… well look at Boise St.’s record at home within the past few years – opponents have had VERY bad luck there (I don’t believe Hawaii has EVER won there much less any other current WAC team – though I could be wrong).

The Shoe – Ohio State
Texas

    LSU is the toughest. Loudest.

Anywhere in the SEC outside of Vandy and the Miss. schools are VERY tough places to play, the Swamp and Neyland in particular (110,000 screaming orange people).

USC isn’t that tough to play at — the West coast is just more laid back. The fans are a bit more chill. The team is what makes it tough to play there.

The Big House is also pretty intimidating.

Never been to OSU, but as a Texas grad I can tell you the dynamics of that stadium, while getting better, is nowhere near as loud and intimidating as a place like Neyland, partly because it is so "open".

Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, and LSU are all very difficult stadiums for visiting teams.

LSU is the loudest and most intimidating. During the "Earthquake Game" years ago against Auburn, the noise registered on a seismograph across campus. Another I remember was when Florida came in ranked #1 and lost…I could hear the crowd about 3 miles away. The noise inside the stadium is so loud you feel it….plus your ears ring for a few days after.

    2.The Horseshoe(Ohio State)
    3.The Swamp(florida)
    4.Tiger Stadium(lsu)
now I’ve actually only been to The Shoe, but Happy Valley looks & sounds awesome when they "white out" the crowd

Neyland stadium (Tennessee) is very intimidating for its opponents. That place is huge. Also Death Valley (LSU) is intimidating.

I have been in Death Valley (LSU) many times.
There are times when you cannot communicate with the person standing next to you, even if you scream at the top of your lungs.
Bear Bryant said that playing at Tiger Stadium was like playing inside a drum.
