How can I find death records?
Ok so my papaw died a couple of years ago…I never met him…its my dads dad and my dad wasnt in my life….
well I was wondering is there anyway I can find out where he was buried?
If I live in Tennessee is there anyway I can get ahold of someone to tell me death records in texas?
I believe thats where he was buried im not sure though.
If you knew what Funeral Home he went to then maybe you could see if they have a copy of his Death Certificate. Try to Google his name cuz nowadays they can put your obit online & if its on there read the survivors on there to see if there is a name that you recognize or if maybe you had a general area of where you think he might be buried at check the Funeral Homes/Cemeteries around there to see if someone by that name is buried there at the cemetery. If you post his name and death date here, someone may be able to find it for you. He might be on findagrave.com.

you can go to rootsweb.com and search the ssdi index(social security death index),( if he had a social security card).
you may be able to just google ssdi and go straight to the ssdi website. http://WWW.rootsweb.com is a free web site for geneology. I like to read the message boards, and I have found a long lost relative there, looking for us. hope this helps you. good luck!

I think that your best bet would be Ancestry.com. To order a death certificate I think it’s like 5 bucks,so it’s really not much. If you knew where he died you could also look for the local newspaper(for that area)on line and find the obituary and it should also tell you where exactly he was barried.
