A woman caught me peeing in my backyard and called the cops, what can I expect?
Its a messed up situation,so please help, Im scared as hell. Instead of going up to the bathroom I lazily started peeing in the backyard. It faces an alley. A woman driving by saw me and told the cops I was publicly exposing myself to her, and I was 100% not doing that. Now Im lazy stupid and wrong for going outside, but I cant prove that, nor can she prove I was exposing myself. I was released and told Ill get papers in the mail, then have to go to the court house and take care of stuff. I was never told anything besides that. Does anybody have any idea what Im likely to be charged with? I know its possible for public lewdness, exposer, or public urination. When I say one thing and she says another, how is that figured out? Can anyone help me, please??? I really truly need it. Im 21 with no prior record, I live in Pennsylvania. I am scared to death what this might do for my future, please help me out.
Thank you all very much for the advice firstly. Secondly a couple more fuzzy details. It says that I could possibly have to be a registered sex offender because of public exposure, just for urinating in public charge. And can anyone else tell me what to expect? As far as, they let me go and told me Id recieve something in the mail. What then? Im not familiar with any of this stuff so I have no clue what Im doing here. Thank you all for your responses. I thank each one of ya more than Ive ever thanked anyone.
That happened to me. I ducked into an alley to take a leak, and a woman saw me. She said I was exposing myself to her, but I said I was taking a piss. The judge agreed with me, and charged me with public urination, which is the equivalent of a traffic ticket.
turn it around, the woman was a peeping tom and encroached on your privacy…

You’ll probably get a misdemeanor citation and a fine.
Consider it a lesson, quit being gross and keep it in your pants until you can find a restroom.

you’re cool, as long as you didn’t pee in her coke, while playing a joke.
or you can just deny it.
if she has no proof, there’s NOTHING the cops can do.
deny it. say you were just standing outside having a cigarette or something, and that you were pouring out a soda bottle.
"officer, why would i pee in my own backyard? i’ve got a toilet right over there."
then tell them you’ve seen the neighbor walk around naked in her backyard.

Wow… That’s just ridiculous.
Yes, it was lazy. But you realize that. I think that you should have the opportunity to face your accuser in court AND a jury and defend yourself and promise that you’ll take the time to go to the bathroom INSIDE next time.
But you’re right… Our justice system is screwed when it comes to stuff like that, and you might not be as lucky.
I’ll say a prayer for you that they don’t screw your life over because of this though.

how could she possibly prove that, just deny it.

this is a tough situation indeed there’s not much i can help you with but if i were you i would call my lawyer and talk to him/her about this you might get yelled at by your parents for not going in to the restroom and if you have to face the consequences then that’s your own fault but still i would call up your lawyer and talk to him/her about this

As in law enforcement i can help you
1st dont worry this is only a misdemeanor
2nd the only things you could be caught for is urination in public and indecent exposure if you wanted to you could fight this but i highly doubt you should bc if she had evidence she was with holding you got get a good fine
3rd in many cases you were sober so it will be taken lightly
4th 3 or more charges could turn it into a felony but very unlikely

Don’t deny it as many people have mentioned. They ask "How can she possibly prove that?" Well, it sounds like you were arrested on the spot; if there was indeed urination nearby where you were arrested, and such factors are identified in the police report, then it isn’t unreasonable to assume that your genitals were exposed, even if you weren’t exposing them to the woman. A jury will see it this way. If you’re placed at the location, and were arrested at the location, simply denying you were doing anything may reflect poorly for you. Talk to an attorney with the case specifics, and see what he says from there. Also, the District Attorney may offer you a deal, as most cases of this nature are adjudicated pre-trial.

So this is woman is meant to be driving, and she is too busy watching you take a p.i.s.s? pervert much? She is the danger by not keeping her eyes on the road, the filthy beast
I bet if she needed to do her buisness and squatted behind a bush and someone shopped her into the police, I would immediately think perv, what are you doing staring in the first place? Secondly, she cant have chosen a good place to do her thing, anyway this is ridiculous, so you could be charged for indecent exposure? wow this world has gone mad, you took a p.i.s.s for petesake, hardly crime of the century is it? This woman is a sad pervert, she is an idiot and needs to find something better to do with her time, than sit in cars and watch a 21 year old dude, with a clean record, take a pee in his own backgarden, arrest her for stalkerish behaviour!!!

You’ll probably get a ticket for indecent exposure

The trouble is that you weren’t 100% not doing that. You may have had no intent to do that, but you in fact did.
When one witness says one thing and another says something different, it’s up to the jury (or judge, if no jury) to decide who’s more credible.
Get real legal advice. Lawyer up.
