What do Mexicans mean their Mexicans act in an aggressive way against Mexicans and even their own Hispanics?

May 15th, 2011 5 comments

The Mexican government reported a rise in incidents in which U.S. immigration authorities harmed Mexican migrants. Agents hurt or killed five Mexicans in 2008, 12 in 2009 and 17 this year, according to data from the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

In a statement, the FBI said the El Paso incident began around 6:30 p.m. Monday. A U.S. Border Patrol agent arrived to help colleagues responding to a report of suspected illegal immigrants being smuggled into the USA.

The statement says the agent detained one of the suspects while others ran to the Mexican side of the border and threw rocks at the agent.

"This agent … gave verbal commands to the remaining subjects to stop and retreat," the statement said. "However, the subjects surrounded the agent and continued to throw rocks at him. The agent then fired his service weapon several times, striking one subject who later died."

The Mexican Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday that the use of firearms to "repel attacks with stones represents a disproportionate use of force."

T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing about 17,000 agents and support staffers, said frequent rock attacks have the "capacity to inflict serious damage, if not death." He said the agent, a seven-year veteran, appears to have acted properly.

Bonner said U.S. records show the Mexican boy had been arrested six times on charges related to human smuggling or illegal entry.

In Mexico, some citizens were outraged. "They’re acting in a very aggressive way against Mexicans and even their own Hispanics," Alejandro López, 27, said Thursday in Mexico City. "The (Border Patrol) is going to do whatever they can to excuse it, but in the end, he was just a kid, and he didn’t deserve to die."
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-06-10-border-shooting_N.htm

according to the State Department: 79 U.S. citizens were killed last year in Mexico, up from 35 in 2007. In Juarez, just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas, 23 Americans were killed in 2009, compared with two in 2007.
Obama no Comment.ZzZzZzZzZz

I can understand their frustration and ignorance of the real issue behind this but I am getting tired of their stupidity. I am so tired of the double standards they impose. Mexicans are aggressive with Central American migrants yet they don’t get called out for it. It was unfortunate for that boy to lose his life but he was no saint. As you mentioned, he was a human trafficker and had been arrested numerous times. His mother even said he was a good kid. HAHAHA or should it be JAJAJA

Where can I find free downloadable death records for pennsylvania 1923?

May 15th, 2011 2 comments

I’m trying to locate my great aunt -Margaret Dougherty – whom I knew nothing about until yesterday when I found a letter from a Mrs. Weston informing my great grandmother that she had died (1923) and was to be buried in the local church, the funeral was to be paid for out of the $300 she had in her bank account. With it I found a letter from margaret dated a year previous, begging her family to take her home so she could die in Ireland. I cannot seem to be able to access any online databases…i know she had been in a hospital

Where should I start?

You don’t say if Dougherty is your aunts birth name or married name.
I have done a search on ancestry.com and the only record I could find was a 1920 census listing a Margaret Dougherty aged 66,born in Ireland and living as a lodger at no.6 Bells Court, possibly flat or room 55. She was single and unemployed and unable to read or write. This was in enumeration district 122.Area5,Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. If this was her and she died in 1923 she would have been about 69/70 (1854–1923)
This seems to have been quite a large boarding house and there were quite a number of other Irish boarders there. If it was her,she may have got someone else to write a letter for her.
Cannot find a death record for her. Hope this helps.
edit: Just found some passenger lists but need a probable birth year to try to match up margaret as there are a number of people with the same name.

Southern California Truck Accident Lawyer’s Top Ten Common Goof-ups Made by People in a Ca Truck Accident

May 14th, 2011 No comments

1. Not getting out of the way of a truck.

2. Avoiding tanker trucks at all cost.

3. Driving in the truck lane in heavy fog.

4. Tailgating trucks.

5. Sitting in the blind spots of trucks.

6. Parking yourself in the lane next to a truck that has to merge into your lane.

7. Antagonizing truck drivers.

8. Annoying the police officer investigating the accident.

9. Whining after the accident to the police officer.

10. Asking the police officer if you can use their taser on the other driver.

Here are ten useful tips of advice from a Southern California truck accident lawyer to follow if you have been in an accident. You can also learn more about how to handle a truck accident in Southern California, or any city in Southern CA, by calling the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson at any of the numbers which can be found on our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learning how we can assist you.

Obviously, if you have had an accident, and you are reading all of this advice, it’s probably been at least a few days since the accident. However, if it’s only been a few hours or if you ever have another accident, here’s what you should do the next time from the start.

First, take a look around and determine if you or anyone, are hurt. If so, taking steps like trying to prevent further injury or loss of blood are the most important thing you can do. Even if some other driver caused you to be injured, it’s just good manners to help the other driver if they are hurt. They may even be so thankful that they admit their fault to you. The worst thing you can do is get angry or start a fight.

Second, make sure everyone is safe from being injured further. If you are in the middle of traffic, and you are dizzy, sit down away from traffic. If your vehicle is a traffic hazard and you have accident warning devices like flares or triangles, put them out on the road to warn other drivers and get away from the car. Let the police an other emergency personnel investigate the scene with the vehicles in place and move them more safely at a later point.

Third, call the police. Accident reports are extremely helpful if the police will do such a report. Let the police know you are injured immediately. Answer the police questions honestly. But if you are dazed or confused, let them know you need medical treatment and answer only what you feel sure about. Remember, your statements can and will be used against you if you admit fault, and it will be too late and too fishy to later say you didn’t know what you were saying at the scene. Police know that your best recollection is immediately after an accident.

Fourth, get the other driver’s information including their names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, make and model of their vehicles, license plate numbers, and their insurance company name and policy number. If there are witnesses, get their names, addresses and telephone numbers as well. If the other driver makes any admissions of fault, write those down as well.

Fifth, if you have a camera on your cell phone or in the car and you aren’t too injured, take some photos of the vehicles and the scene. If you can’t do it right away, do it after you are released from the hospital.

Sixth, if you are hurt, obtain medical treatment. Don’t decline the ambulance or hospital examination to save your insurance company money or to be stoic. Take your valuables out of your car if you can and get checked out at the hospital. If you are not hurt, don’t get treatment you don’t need. However, remember, after an accident, you may feel a rush of adrenaline that causes you to only start feeling symptoms of pain a few hours later. If you have a health plan that requires you to obtain permission first, call them and find out where you are allowed to seek treatment.

Seventh, call a good Southern California truck accident lawyer as soon as you have had your initial treatment, so the Southern California attorney can gather other important evidence and prevent the insurance company from taking advantage of you and obtaining such things as recorded statements that you feel fine, when many of your symptoms have yet to manifest themselves. A good Southern California truck accident lawyer can save you from making a great deal of mistakes and can shoulder much of the hassle of knowing what to do about car repairs, car rentals, medical treatment, witness statements and the like. If you think you will save money by not having a Southern California attorney, think again. A good Southern California truck accident lawyer can almost always obtain much higher settlements, obtain reductions of medical bills and insurance liens and prevent you from making costly mistakes. Also, most Southern California truck accident lawyers advance costs of obtaining police reports, medical records and the like and are paid and reimbursed for these costs only out of any settlement.

Eight, you will need to report the accident to your insurance company, but since they will want to take a recorded statement from you, just like any other driver’s insurance company, it’s good advice to retain a Southern California attorney first. And if the other driver did not have insurance, remember that it is your own insurance company that will be your adversary. You will also need to report the accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles and your Southern California lawyer can give you the form for this.

Ninth, do not agree to settle your claim privately with the person at fault for the accident. This almost never works out to your advantage. Don’t agree not to call the police. Police reports that determine the fault for an accident are golden. Your agreement to not involve the police only affords an opportunity for the other driver to change his story and blame you when the police will no longer investigate the accident.

Tenth, don’t pay a traffic ticket without a fight if you weren’t at fault or agree to accept a small payment for your vehicle repairs without knowing that the amount will in fact cover the cost of all the repairs.

If you’ve had a Southern California truck accident in Riverside County, San Bernardino County, or in the Coachella Valley, on the Central Coast or in the Imperial Valley or cities such as San Diego, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Orange County, Yorba Linda, Tustin, Lake Forest, Fountain Valley, Rancho Santa Margarita, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Orange, Fullerton, Costa Mesa, or anywhere in Southern California, we have the knowledge and resources to be your Southern California Truck Accident Lawyer and your Southern CA Truck Accident Attorney.

Be sure to hire a Southern California law firm with auto, motorcycle, truck, bicycle, pedestrian, car, bus, train, boat and airplane accident experience, wrongful death experience and insurance law expertise who can ensure you are properly represented and get the compensation you deserve.

If you have a Southern CA personal injury legal matter, a dog bite or if you’ve lost a loved one in a wrongful death accident, call the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson, or visit our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learn how we can assist you.

Their debut album, “Altars of Madness” changed the sound of death metal forever. Since then, Morbid Angel has not stopped reigning terror on those who are weak, with their second album, “Blessed Are The Sick” possibly even topping their debut. This is track 7, titled “Blessed Are The Sick/ Leading The Rats”… now sit back and enjoy the amazing talent of Trey Azagthoth on lead guitar, Pete The Feet” Sandoval on hellhammers, David Vincent on basscrush and Screams of eternal disaster and chaos, and Richard Brunelle on second guitar.

Havahej another me born to serve
To plague and moan
So many years my seed condemned
No free to soar!!!

Will is yours? So, creator
No intend could shadow
My disease… Ever pain

World of sickness
Blessed are we to taste
This life of sin

My touch is inhumane
Nocturnal beast inside
Is void of light
And empty shall remain…

Serious problems and deaths linked to medications break record. Is it time now to …?

May 10th, 2011 2 comments

take control of the FDA away from the multinational corporations (big pharma, big chema, big agra)?

Read the article before answering:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081022/ap_on_he_me/med_drug_safety;_ylt=A0wNcwMiV_9IFCYB1gF34T0D

"WASHINGTON – The number of serious problems and deaths linked to medications reported to the government set a record in the first three months of this year, a health industry watchdog group said Wednesday.

The Food and Drug Administration received nearly 21,000 reports of serious drug reactions, including over 4,800 deaths, said an analysis of federal data by the nonprofit Institute for Safe Medication Practices, which scrutinized data going back to 2004, and yearly totals dating to the 1990s."

Should the FDA should be dismantled altogether in favor of states chosing to implement their own regulations, as envisaged by the Constitution, Amendment #10.

With such immense wealth and political influence behind the these multinational corporations, is it even remotely possible to reform the FDA to a degree where it acts in the interests of the people?

If each state had its own rules, would it not be far more difficult (and less profitable) for elite corporate interests to hijack the product-approval process. They would have to buy off politicians and government officials from each and every state. As it stands now, they must buy off only one set of politicians and government officials.

I believe the FDA is by far the most serious health threat we face – not only for their corporate bias toward medication approvals, but their corporate bias relating to food and chemicals as well.

What say you? Should the FDA be dismantled in favor of state authority?

The concept of the FDA is good. What is wrong with it is the result of political corruption. If the FDA were doing it’s job, imports of food from Communist China would be stopped. We have seen many examples of food coming from China that is tainted. Because the FDA is a political animal, and Red China is our "friend", nothing is done.

At the same time, the FDA persecutes the food supplements industry, for the benefit of the big pharmaceutical companies. The solution: make it against the law for any candidate for election to receive ANY campaign money from any pharmaceutical company, or any holding company that controls one. Make any politician who later takes a job with a pharmaceutical company, or becomes a lobbyist for one, or receives honorariums from one, a felon, and put him behind bars.

Make politicians raise ALL their campaign funds from individuals – no corporate or special interests. Prohibit former politicians from ever profiting from the legislative activities.

Politicians are the Criminal Class. They need to be constantly monitored, even after they leave office.

Do you agree/disagree Jehovahs Witness woman sues state of Kansas?

May 10th, 2011 15 comments

medical welfare to pay for bloodless care for liver transplant? This is a justification of the JW I disagree with completely. Suing is wrong unless you have been wronged terribly. This woman is asking welfare to go above and beyond for her alone. Any JW will tell you they try to be good neighbors. This is putting a money burden on tax payers and that is just with the lawsuit alone and not even if it does get paid for. I wonder how many people could get medical care with what she is getting from welfare medical benefits. This is a prime example of a JW bending the rules for themselves. She can move to another state or even Canada rather than cost Kansas the money she has. She probably gets more Kansas welfare than what other states would offer. or else she does not want to be inconvienced by moving.

TOPEKA | A Kansas appeals court poked and prodded Wednesday, but kept returning to the same question.

What compelling reason did Kansas have for refusing to pay for a woman’s request — based on her religious faith — to undergo a bloodless liver transplant that could be done only outside the state?

The answer could decide whether 64-year-old Mary Stinemetz, a Jehovah’s Witness from Hill City, Kan., can replace her failing liver that has left her near death after 20 years of illness.

“Don’t you have some type of compelling state interest to deny this, and what is that compelling interest?” Judge Stephen D. Hill asked the state’s lawyer, Brian Vazquez.

Hill’s comments came during a nearly hourlong session of the Kansas Court of Appeals, which generally allots about 30 minutes to hearings.

Stinemetz contends the state is violating her religious freedom under the U.S. Constitution and the Kansas Bill of Rights, which guarantee the right to worship “according to the dictates of conscience.”

The state is willing to allow Stinemetz to get a liver transplant, paid for by Medicaid, at the University of Kansas Hospital. But she would have to compromise her Jehovah’s Witness principles, because she would receive a blood transfusion, which she believes violates God’s law.

Stinemetz could undergo bloodless transplant surgery in Omaha, Neb., but Kansas is refusing to pay for the out-of-state procedure when a transplant is readily available at KU.

Stinemetz’s case rests partly on U.S. Supreme Court precedent from 1963, which holds the government needs a compelling state interest to justify infringing on someone’s right to freely exercise religion.

Vazquez acknowledged there was little, if anything, in the court record to show a compelling state interest. However, he contended that a 1990 Supreme Court decision from Oregon eliminated the need to show a compelling interest.

In that case, the court ruled that government could adopt laws that might burden someone’s religion as long as the law was neutral and didn’t target a specific religious faith.

The court is expected to issue a ruling later

@Paint a Picture-Welfare is in fact probably better than my private insurance which I pay a lot of money for and then pay more for taxes so she can get an operation that will save her life. There are so many people in between who will die b/c they have neither option and this woman is costing Kansas more by filing lawsuits for a bogus scripture interpretation. I am always curious why the JW’s do not comment when its a story about one of their own abusing the tax system. Why isn’t her brothers and sisters from Kingdom Hall assisting her with money? Because people like us will continue to pay taxes and do the christian thing of helping those less fortunate.

Medical Welfare and do the clean hard working diligent members of the Watch Tower Groups called Kingdom Halls have any sort of benefits or donations or drives to help one of their own?

I think not.

The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society only lines it’s own coffers and throws needy members on to the public system they refuse to show any social obligation toward.

The Watch Tower calls all governments under the influence of Satan and the Demons and yet the members sure do enjoy the benefits of being an American Citizen

The Watch Tower Demonizes all government whether this is the US government or not and the members can not salute the flag show support to any cause but the cause of The Watch Tower which is to buy and pass out literature and recruit new members who will also support the mega-corporation of the realty and publishing group called the Watch Tower.
Though
members can take all the money and benefits that are offered.
_______

(A Watch Tower twist Jehovah’s Witnesses do not know)
(The Watch Tower recently booted out long time workers that earn 14 dollars a month stipend or the equivalent and paid no taxes – some who never held a job and do not qualify for any government benefits. 55 – 60 – 65 years old – no working history – 0 taxes paid in their life and out on their backsides.)
_______

The Watch Tower again teaches their followers they may have no social obligation to the body whole of the people of the United States such as military or alternative service.but will sue at the drop of a dime to get benefits from the same government.

At what point do responsible citizens say enough to the Watch Tower and its drones?

I doubt Jehovah’s Witnesses taxes in a three state area are enough to pay for one operation like this – Jehovah’s Witnesses are the lowest educated and have lowest income of all major religions.

And yes 7 million members and associates of the Watch Tower make the Watch Tower one of the major religions yet it exerts to the degree it may absolute control over it followers.

Did the Patriot Act help with seizing Osama? Will the govt lay off it or implement more restrictions?

May 10th, 2011 4 comments

WASHINGTON – Freshman Republican Randy Hultgren had no problem voting against extending the Patriot Act in February. But the death of Osama bin Laden, just weeks before part of the terrorist-fighting law expires, raises new questions for the Illinois congressman.

"It hasn’t changed my mind, not yet," Hultgren said this week. "I want to see that we’re doing it in a careful way, that we’re seeing results from it."

There’s no indication that the mission to take out bin Laden relied on the Patriot Act, which was designed after the Sept. 11 attacks to find terrorists inside the U.S. But the afterglow of the operation’s success shined new light on the nature of the terrorist threat nearly a decade after the attacks bin Laden inspired.

Interviews with House and Senate experts on the law, from both parties, indicate this week’s developments may have marginalized any effort to tighten the Patriot Act’s protections and perhaps scuttled Senate plans to hold a full week of debate on the bill.

From its inception, the law’s increased surveillance powers have been criticized by both liberals and conservatives as infringements on free speech rights and protections against unwarranted searches and seizures.

[ For complete coverage of politics and policy, go to Yahoo! Politics ]

Some Patriot Act opponents suggest that bin Laden’s demise should prompt Congress to reconsider the law, written when the terrorist leader was at the peak of his power. But the act’s supporters warn that al-Qaida splinter groups, scattered from Pakistan to the United States and beyond, may try to retaliate.

"Now more than ever, we need access to the crucial authorities in the Patriot Act," Attorney General Eric Holder told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

If bin Laden’s death has any impact on the law’s fate, "I hope…it’ll be in the direction of extending the current law," said Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. "Most of us believe it’s been an effective tool in the war on terror."

The provisions that expire May 27 allow the government to use roving wiretaps on multiple electronic devices and across multiple carriers and get court-approved access to business records relevant to terrorist investigations. The third, a "lone wolf" provision that was part of a 2004 law, permits secret intelligence surveillance of non-U.S. individuals without having to show a connection between the target and a specific terrorist group.

The Senate Judiciary Committee in March approved a bill that would extend the provisions until 2013, tighten its civil liberties protections and increase oversight. But there’s evidence that bin Laden’s death may have marginalized any such effort to do more than extend the law, as is. A Senate official not authorized to speak for the record said it wasn’t clear that there would be a full week of floor debate on the Patriot Act as Majority Leader Harry Reid had indicated.

The law’s fate, for now, resides in the Republican-controlled House and the odd pairing of GOP libertarians and Democratic liberals who have long viewed the Patriot Act as an oppressive overreach.

Would the govt prefer it if we were all under lock and key?

I think the patriot Act was the Big Brother movement of them all pushed on us by our fear of the perpetual media booogey man I dont like it
