Why was there such little flooding in New York City during the all time record rain the other day?

August 26th, 2011 2 comments

Normally, when you set an all-time record daily rainfall for any given city, massive flooding occures. Offically, about 8 inches of rain fell on Aug. 14th. However, I am looking online, and there are very little news stories on the houses flooded with feet of water, or deaths, which are normally assoicated with this type of rain. If you look at the all-time record rainfall for most cities in the U.S., it does not even approch 7 inches for the day. Wash DC, Philly, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Detroit, along with many more cities have never seen 7 inches of rain in one day. In fact, Central Park has just seen 3 days in the last 141 years with rainfall over 7 inches for a day.

I live in Philly and the reason I can think of is because the rain normally moves and doesn’t stay in one spot yet in south Jersey they had 10" of rain fall because of the rain training over the same area

just think if all this rain came during the colder months we would be in a blizzard

Tupac’s Interview about the Beef with Bad Boy Records

Please say your oppinion on this beef in the comments.

The East CoastWest Coast hip hop rivalry was a feud in the early-mid 1990s between artists and fans of the East Coast and West Coast hip-hop scenes. Seeming focal points of the feud were West Coast-based rapper 2Pac (and his label, Death Row Records), and East Coast-based rapper The Notorious B.I.G. (and his label, Bad Boy Records).

From late 1995 into early 1996, 2Pac would appear on numerous tracks aiming threatening and/or antagonistic slants at Biggie, Bad Boy as a label, and anyone affiliated with them. During this time, although Biggie never directly responded, the media became heavily involved and dubbed the rivalry a coastal rap war, reporting on it continuously. This caused fans from both scenes to take sides with one set of The songs harsh content was viewed by detractors as Shakur having gone too far and taking the feud to another level. Although Biggie denies directly responding to 2Pac, many of B.I.G.’s songs can be speculated as being an answer to Shakur’s slurs.

Can u help me to deal with the death of my abuser/father?

January 18th, 2010 16 comments

I know that I can’t change things and if I could I don’t have the money to fight it. Please understand that I may not make sense here as I am really upset right now. Here’s my story:

I was abused by both of my parents mentally, physcally and sexually. As well as with a few of their friends. It stopped when I was 14 years old. My parents were divorced in Aug. 1975. Remarried in Sept. 1975. I didn’t see my father till my mother passed away in April 2007. I’ve not seen him since. When my father became ill he had my brother promise him that he wouldn’t tell me that he was ill. He had to have open heart surgery. So he didn’t tell me. I was to find out about his death when one of 5 step family had it put in my local newspaper. I live in N.W. IL and they (father, brother and one step sister) live in Florida. I’ve not meet any of my step family but for their mother… whom was a wonderful person. She’s passed on in 2001. In his Will everything will go to the oldest step sister. I won’t even get a picture of my father or anything. Yes, there is a lot of money as my father was a wealthy man. But I don’t want his money… though I have to be honest it would be nice. I would be happy with just a picture or something like that. The reason why I was told he had died was that Becky (step sister) needed to sign papers to have my father’s body cremated. She couldn’t sign them as she’s not blood related… none of the steps are. So they had to get in touch with me so that my brother and I could sign the needed paperwork. In light of reading that contract I will not be signing it. As it states in that contract that I would be held liable if anyone should try to sue the funeral home for anything. Like if someone comes up and says they are the child of my father’s and he didn’t know that he had even died and wanted to sue the funeral home… they would come after whomever signed that contract. My brother signed it… I am not if they don’t remove that part. I’ve not seen a Will nor do I know how or why he died. I’ve been told two different reasons why he died… neither the same.

Soon after my father’s wife (Pat) passed away in Sept 2001 he started seeing my mother again. My mother lied to me about seeing him again. As she knew how I would feel about it.

I have been treated for P.T.S.D. for years… all of what was done to me by my parents when I was a child.

Right now I feel angry, hurt, betrayed, raped emotionally, like I want to cry but I have no tears at all. Yes, I am saying that I’ve not yet shed a tear of his death. I don’t think I will either. I know why he treated me like he did. But I don’t understand why he’s treated my brother like he did.

If anyone has any help they can give me in how to deal with this in a better way please just speak up. Right now I feel myself just slipping away… back in my shell… my safety zone.

Thanks for listening… .

This is what I just told a friend of mine as to how I feel:
I have a lot to deal with on my plate. Not only did both of my parents shit on me when I was a child…. mother looked the other way when my father wanted to have sex with me or even when one of my father’s friend wanted to have sex with me. She started dating my father again soon after his wife died and she lied to me about it. Then to find out that he didn’t leave nothing… not even a metal that he got while in the military… to my brother and I. We are his only two blood kids. He left everything to Becky… one of 5 step kids. The youngest step kid was almost 19 when he married their mother… all out of the home. It’s not like he didn’t have much either. My father was a wealthy man. It’s not the money that I would like to have… though it would be nice. I just would like something from him… to remember other things than what I do now of him. Hell… he even went so far to have my brother promise him that he wouldn’t tell me about his death till he was cremated or I r ead the Obituary in my local paper. He lived in south Florida. I know he did this to punish me for the felony he had on his record. But don’t know what my brother did to get the same treatment. I hadn’t see my father since I was 16 until April 29, 2008 for a few hours when we put my mother’s ashes where she wanted them. I’ve not seen him since. He was sick for 2 months before passing. My brother kept that from me as he promised he wouldn’t tell me till my father wanted. So I don’t know if I should be upset at my brother for that as well. When my Uncle that I loved dearly passed my father wouldn’t let my brother tell me that till after the funeral was over. So he didn’t. I do feel that my brother has betray me big time.

Now do you see why I have trouble with trusting others?

I am sorry to hear of your troubles.

It would help you a lot if you saw a therapist.

You can contest the will. As his blood child, it is a law that you have to be notified of the issues in the will.

Start calling attorneys. Go to the site below for free legal advice.

There is a lawyer that will take you case and make the other side pay for your legal fees.

You were wronged.

Don’t let them get a way with it.

Good Luck.

Can I order a Death Certificate of someone who wasn’t a blood relation or married to?

January 15th, 2010 2 comments

The person passed away in Orange County, California. Can I go online and do this? Or must this be done through the Hall of Records in Orange County. Is it possible to go through the Hall of Records in Los Angeles County? The Death Certificate is for financial reasons. I shared a deed to a timeshare (and a bank account) with this person and if I ever sell it, I believe I need to provide this proof.

yes rose you can do it — you will have to pay a processing fee and give a reason!!!! good luck!!!

Who hates the Death Penalty?

December 14th, 2009 7 comments

The Death Penalty, you hear the word and instantly your mind starts wondering about it. The Death Penalty is know as the worst punishment, or charge, to get. The punishment is Death. The death penalty is very rare, but since the 1980’s, it has became more and more common and more than 1000 people have been executed. The question you might first think about is… How do they kill them? The most common method is the lethal injection. A chemical that is released into your body that will instantly kill you. There are some other rarer methods known as hanging, electrocution, gas chambers, and a firing squad.

Many people go against the Death Penalty, this is for many reasons. One of the reasons is that it breaks the rule of the 8th amendment of the Constitution of No Cruel or Unusual Punishment. The Death Penalty can be thought to fit in with this and can not. It is Killing a person, but some people think they deserve it. Another reason people disagree with the Death Penalty is that killing a person is killing a person. They Say no matter what the person did, they are still a person and that doesn’t give you a right to kill them. But there have been about 18,000 murders in the US a year, and some people think that there needs to be more executions.

What I think? I think the Death Penalty is one of the things that I am really disappointed about. Im just a boy, but I know lots of stuff about this topic. So I do not and will never support the Death Penalty. My first reason why is that it is killing a person. Sure they are Mass Murderers but still 2 wrongs don’t mean a right so that doesn’t mean we have to kill them because the government killing them is basically the government murdering them.
People say that it cost to much money to keep inmates in prison for life, actually that’s not correct. Studies show it cost more to execute someone. Is the lethal Injection really painless. First of all, they aren’t 100% sure what it feels like because they can not test it. But studies show that people can go through an extreme amount of pain during the procedure. It usually depends on the person. You see there are three main parts in the lethal injection. There’s the anesthetic like material that is said to make you feel nothing, there’s the poison like material that kills you. And finally there’s the material that doesn’t make you move at all. Science says that over 10% of the Lethal injections the US has done the inmates where most likely going through an extreme amount of pain but didn’t even feel anything. It happens in sugary sometimes, it looks like there asleep but there fully awake feeling everything.

Here are some facts I made from researching…

••In the United States, about 13,000 people have been legally executed since colonial times.
••By the 1930’s up to 150 people were executed yearly. 2 Lack of public support for capital punishment and various legal challenges reduced the execution rate to near zero by 1967. The U.S. Supreme Court banned the practice in 1972.
••In 1976, the Supreme Court authorized its resumption. 3 Each state could then decide whether or not to have the death penalty. As of the 2002-OCT, only the District of Columbia and 12 states do not have the death penalty. The states which have abolished executions are typically northern: Alaska, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin. However, seven jurisdictions have the death penalty but have not performed any executions since 1976. They are also mostly northern: Connecticut, Kansas, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, South Dakota and the U.S. military.
••The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that whenever a sentencing jury has the ability to impose capital punishment, the jury must be informed in advance if the defendant would be eligible for parole.
••Almost all states have an automatic review of each conviction by their highest appellate court.
••There are a number of federal offenses that can lead to the death penalty. About 21 prisoners are housed in death row at the federal Terre Haute, IN facility. One was executed in 2001. This was the first federal execution in 36 years.
••Texas holds the record for the largest number of executions since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. Virginia has executed a larger percentage of its population than any other state over 1 million in population.
••As of 2002-JAN-1: From 1976, when executions were resumed, until 2002-JUL-1, there have been 784 executions in the US. About 30 to 60 prisoners are currently killed annually, most by lethal injection. About two out of three executions (65.6%) are conducted in five states: Texas, Virginia, Missouri, Florida and Oklahoma. Texas leads the other states in number of killings (256 killings; 34% of the national total). There were about 3,690 prisoners sentenced to death in 37 state death rows, and 31 being held by the U

Great! You have done a lot of research and you are obviously a compassionate person. I agree with you 100% and wish there were more people like you in the world who do not believe in the death penalty. I live in England where fortunately the death penalty is outlawed.

What was the maximum amount of wives that a LDS man could have?

December 11th, 2009 13 comments

The reason I would like to know is because I believe that in Islam you get a hundred virgins upon death and I was wondering if the Mormons have surpassed that record. Below you will find a link with some of the statistics.

The first seven presidents of the Latter Day Saints committed bigamy. These Mormon men had several wives and the sixth cousin of the founder who was the second President of the Church and who happens to have a Mormon college named for him in Utah had 51 wives to himself. He allegedly had relations with the wives of his cousin and founding President, Joseph Smith.
